I thought she'd grown out of the mischief stage somewhat but nope, not yet. My 7 yr. old daughter stuck gum on her bedroom wall tonight. I didn't even know she had any gum in there! Anybody know how to get it off the wall without ruining the paint? I already tried putting ice on it and tried nail polish remover, neither of those worked. I did get some of it scraped off but not all of it.

Dear Gumball: There is a product on the market called Goo-Gone. I know that it takes stickers off of ceramics and china, not sure if it will take gum off of painted walls though. Maybe you can find it in a store near you and check the label to see what it says. My other suggestion was going to be ice, since that takes gum out of your hair - but I see that you have already tried that. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

Hello! How are you gumball? Well you may want to try "Goo Gone", it comes in a small yellow bottle and I think they have it at stores like CVS, Walgreens, Meijer, and Walmart. They are usually around where the shoes/washing detergant/electric appliances. It removes gooey stuff so that is why they put it by those sections of the store. However if that doesn't work... I see from this website: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf554973.tip.html That a wet fabric softener sheet does the trick. So get out your hair dryer, heat the gum on the wall, get some water and a fabric sheet. Dip the fabric sheet in the water and see if it comes off. It seems like it worked for these people (well in the dryer that is). Have a nice day. Pablo

Sorry, i dont know how to get the gum out of walls but istead i would like tell you to stop your daughter first otherwise in future this habbit may result her to write on the walls,carpets.......... so 1st make your daughter aware of this habbit by afaraiding or by keeping her busy in painting or keep her always writing something on her slate or on her books and for the walls stick the spoiled point with some favourite colour, poster, character or with cartoon and by this she will also laern this collection of her favourite things and i hope she will forget about the spoiling the walls and i hope this works and good luck and all the best.

Painting?? No way. I'm not handing over more ammo for her to wreck stuff with. I've already taken all markers, crayons, pens, pencils, glue, chalk and anything else she could use out of her room. She can use those things, just not in her room. It has to be out here where I can see her at all times. Stop her? How would you suggest I do that? Handcuff her? I've already "made her aware" of it and even pointed out to her that this place is rented and that she could cause me to lose the deposit. I can't allow her to mark the walls up in any way, it'll cost me the deposit of $550. She doesn't use a slate, she goes to school. She is in 1st grade and doesn't have schoolbooks yet.

I would have no idea how to get it off. My first thought was ice. . .but you've already done that. I guess I'd probably scrape it and try to find paint to match and paint over it! Is it in a place where you can cover it with a picture or a piece of furniture? LOL!!
