I have listened to Rick Springfield for more than 20 years. I'm so impressed by his ability to change his sound and respond to the current "hot" trends/sounds in music, yet remain true to himself as a musician and lyricist. He has a true way with words that surpasses so many of the artists/groups out there today that get accolades. It's unfortunate that people cannot see past "Jessie's Girl" and take in more of Rick and his musical genius.

I remember the Rick Springfield of 30+ years ago. About 16 years old, if you believed the press releases, just in from Australia and singing:
Speak to the sky and tell it how you feel
And you know you're not talking to the air
And the world will look better from up there.
Or similar words, it has been a long time. But all the teen aged girls thought he was just "Dreamy!!"

"Speak to the Sky" is an oldie but a goodie! I like the message in the song, and it's a "catchy tune". Just another example of how different he can sound - that song sure fit the times I think, but is light years away from the music of today, like his "shock/denial/anger/acceptance" CD.
And he still fits the "dreamy" definition for me! LOL

I would definitely classify him in the "Dreamy Department!" Not only is he a fantastic musician, singer, and songwriter; he is also hotter than all hell! I believe that he is 57 or 58-years-old now, and he still looks amazing! I do not believe that he has had one stitch of plastic surgery, as he stood in front of me during a 2005 concert, and he didn't have that 'plastic' appearance to even the slightest degree. Some wrinkles around the eyes, but still gorgeous! I believe that he leads a very healthy lifestyle.
