Purity balls for girls, nothing for young men?

I have seen a few programs on the purity balls that are held for fathers and daughters, I am not completely up on all the purpose behind it other than it seems the father signs a contract to protect his daughters purity, and the daughter promises to talk to her father about things that she might turn to other men. An while I am all for parents and children talking and watching out for each other I have a valid question, Why is nothing done about young males that are out there trying their best to make conquests, It seems to me that we are dealing with a double standard. fathers are trying to protect their daughters from the advances of men, but is it all right for boys and Young men to try out their sexuality on girls and young women. I would love to hear your views on this subject , I may be out to lunch on the facts but I did see a couple of programs, What do you think?

Well I think you're right in saying we need to educate young men as much as young women and fathers. Traditionally, educating a father on this subject is more important because if educating the father/daughter is successful, then the young boys won't have any opportunities! That being said, though, I don't think that those who do these balls are trying to say that we don't care about the young men. I think they are targeting fathers and daughters because they have a special relationship, and that ball is designed to impact them within the context of that relationship so the daughters will know what to do when they are being propositioned by young men who are mindless about their sexuality. But I do agree that we need to have similar programs for fathers and sons.
