At one year old, my daughter know's how to tell me when she will go to no.2, but not when she wants to pee. I want to ask all of you guys.. when should I stop using Diaper? will it help me train her to tell me when she wants to pee?

My older two both potty trained at 3.5 or so. We'd tried earlier with both but it wasn't worth the stress on all of us. When they were 3.5, we put panties on and that was the end of that [well, with DD3, she had a hard time with pooping for about 2-3 weeks, but was fine after that]. Our DD2 has started showing a LOT of interest in using the potty. She pooped in the potty this weekend and has been sitting on it several times a day but hasn't peed yet. There's been several times RIGHT after [as in peed on her way]. Kids will train when they're ready is my opinion and pushing it just puts too much stress on all of us. Carol

Maybe depends how you trained your child, if your child had been trained early to tell not to pee on the pants or to tell you right away then its ok to stop using diapers. I have an 18month old baby and a 2 month old, they both use diapers and believe me it takes away huge part of my salary, my oldest is starting to get toilet training and i am monitoring the times she pees and poos...maybe it will take time as im not really at her side always..only my mother who looks after her. I plan to make her stop wearing diaper when she reaches 2yrs. old.

I think 2 years would be the right age.My son is 14 months.I am trying to train him.Looks like it will take some time. But by age 2 I will completely stop buying it is what I think.

My son will turn 3 years this coming August. I have started training him not to use the diaper since last month. For the first week, I'll bring him to the toilet once every hour. And now, he's doing well without using any diapers.

Well I wouldn't even worry about taking away the diapers until they are able to sit on a potty and pee. I have a two year old that can tell me when she has to pee, but not when she has to poop. So I have started her on pull-ups and everytime after she eats, drinks, gets up from a nap or in the morning, and even before she goes to bed at night I tell her to get on the potty and alot of times she has to go. Just try putting them on schedule to use the pot and maybe wear pull-ups during the day and a diaper at night so that in case she does pee it won't leak out or anything. My one year old will just take her diaper off when she has to go, but she can't physically tell me when she has to pee though.

Hi, Normally you can give the kids toilet training after finishing their 2nd birthday (Pediatrician's also suggests the same). So, you can stop using dipers after 24 months.

My daughter is turning 3 this June. But up to now, she still wears diapers, but only during nightime when she sleeps. If I can remeber it correctly, I stopped putting her on diaper when she was more or less 1 and a half year old.
