I can picture this happening top my brother, so here is why.
You are out with your friends (all over 21...) and decide to goto a bar. One of your friends gets horribly drunk and cant walk. You take out your camera phone and record it so you can make fun of them for it later. or maybe they puked all over themselves and you want a picture.
Okay, strange examples, but Ive seen it happen to people before.
Also, camera phones are often around the same price as a regular phone. My friends dad is having trouble though, because he needs a new cell phone but needs one without a camera as he works at a place where all recording devices are not allowed.

it is more cheaper to buy a multi media phone than buying a different gadget with only single function and it is easier to carry around...but the downside in this is most camera phones dont have the quality of an digital camera but still i prefer to use my camera phone than buying a high priced digital camera...

I find it more convenient to have a camera phone than a digital camera, as they are bulkier and harder to carry around then a camera phone, and besides it is allone unit, and that is the best part of all. I can just turn on the camera, snap the picture, and I am good to go. I also like the fact, I can use the camera phone when I want a different wallpaper on my phone. I have done that too, taken a picture of my grandson so I could put it on the front of my camera for wallpaper. So, to me, a camera phone is much more convenient, than carrying around a digital camera. Have a great day, and happy mylotting.
