Is Internet Telephony Cheaper and better that GSM

I will love to know if internet telephony is bettter and cheaper than GSM cause someone said that its better and cheaper than GSM and i will love to start some thing of such here in Nigeria. If anybody has an idea or advice pls enter.

In fact it`s allways cheaper. There are different variants for cheap talkings online with people from all over the world. Or even free. For example you can try SKYPE- they have a voice comunication :)

ok i just went to their site now but what i actually want is a system that one can use like a normal phone either a land line box format or a mobile that can links the sattelite directly, cause here we are used to box or hand held mobile. Not many people use or have PC here! hope i am a bit clearer, thanks

Yes it is... u only ve 2 spend once while buying the VoIP handset, while u need 2 spend a lot on ur GSM connection evrytime u fall short of talktime. Wid VoIP u can go on n on n on............
