I think that the Navy - or any armed services - is a great place for someone who is single. You get to see the world and enjoy you time. The US military makes it very hard for their service personnel to have a fmamly. Many of the perssonel - especially the Navy - are gone from the families for months at a time for regular non-wartime duties. The mone is okay, Officers do make more than the personnel below them, but are still underpaid for the job that is expected of them. My fiance and ex-husband were both Army and they both enjoyed their time in for th emost part. My soon to be Father-in-law was Navy. He loved being in the Navy but hated to be away from his famil for months and months on end. He missed alot of things in this childrens lives as they were growing up until he could get out of the service. It is a difficult road, regardless of what branch you are in, unless you are single.
