Jay Cutler...The next Elway?

Ok Bronco fans what do you think of Cutler? He has a canon for an arm, he's mobile and he's smart having graduated from Vanderbilt. Sound familiar to anyone? Can he bring back visions of #7 under center? I certainly hope so. It's been almost 10 years since Elway called it quits and the QB play since then has been less than desired. Brister, Griese, Frerotte, Beuerlein, Kanell, Chris Miller and Plumber have never panned out. Here's hoping Cutler can help us forget the dead period of Denver QBs.

as a fan, I hope not, I would rather him go on his own legacy and not try to follow John Elway but gain regognition for his own work. Most of us broncos fans(not me) Put to much pressure on QB's after John Elway, and that is unfair. I liked Jake Plummer, but after being on a terrible team and winning a bunch of games, he still got little respect.

I have heard several people say that Cutler is so much like Elway, another Elway, and I would like to see him do as good as Elway did in his time. I think Jay will carve his own mark in the Bronco organization. He may be like Elway and remind people of Elway, but he is his own man and can stand on his own 2 feet, and he is proving that every game that he plays. There will never be another John Elway, but I think Jay Cutler is about as close as we are going to get. Now we just need some kind of a great defense.

how about the beginning of the Cutler Legacy. I dont believe that he needs to be following in Elways Footsteps...he can carve his own path and make his own Successes...i just hope he wont be another flop for the broncos to worry about nor their fans!

Elway is known as one of the greatest QB's ever. Nobody will be able to replace him on that team. I do hope that Cutler kicks azz as much as Elway did back in the day. Here's to Denver winning it all this year. And also I'd like to Wish the Colts horrible luck this year.

Now, I dont know if i'd go that far. Noone can compare to the man "Elway". Though Cutler is pretty good and has room to get even better. Let's just hope he pulls through and we are once again Superbowl bound!!!

Ya know what i certainly hope so, i've seen some crazy plays from Jay that were straight as an arrow and right to his target. I think if shannahan could keep the good players that he has every year and stop getting rid of them everytime there's some new hyped up rookie then we would be one wicked time that we could make to the super bowl and actually win it for once in a decade or two. I'm not whining here i'm just hoping that jay can work with what he gets and make the best out of it and pull us through to the super bowl. Go Broncos.

Hi there! I just wanted to chime in and say that I think Cutler will do a great job, but up to Elway standards, I am not really positive about yet. Maybe after this next season coming up we will all get a better feel for what Cutler can acheive out on the field for the Broncos. I certainly hope it will be good as I would really like to see them kicking some butt again! lol

Oh, I really hope so. I think Cutler did such a great job til the end of their season, and I think if Shanahan would've started him way earlier, the season would've ended a lot different. Next season's gonna be great for the Broncos, I can feel it. As far as fillin Elway's shoes, it's not impossible, but those are some big shoes to be fillin!

The question is will denver be able to stay with him long enough to become the next elway? I know they haven't had the best quarterbacks, but it seems that everyone wants John Elway but will we ever replace him completely? He was one of the best ever.
