Why Bother Signing Up In The First Place

One thing that really bugs me is that when you spend a lot of time and effort advertising, whether it's through advertising online or through surfing traffic exchanges to get credits to promote sites like Mylot and my other sites to make a bit of money.
WHY then do people sign up under you and don't bother doing anything else? So there names sit there with no credits and you don't even get a $ or a credit out of them because all they've done is signed up to the site and vanished!
What is the point in doing that apart from driving me mad! It is hard enough to get referrals at the best of times but to actually make the effort to sign up and then nothing? WHY? Do people do this on purpose or what?
I have signed up to a site which I love to get me FREE referrals as well.
Have you had this problem, apart from Mylot, you advertise sites and people sign up and run and you never hear from them again, their name is there no way of contacting them and there's a big fat ZERO beside their name
Sorry to have a moan!

There are two ways that you can handle this now that the rant is out of your system (bravo!! btw)
You can either do like I do and push on without them (I have 2 referrals who have not posted or answered a single thing and 2 that posted for a bit then never came back).
Or you can try to bribe them by helping them get referrals, which is something I still do for certain referrals due to total lack of time to do it for everyone (after 4 years online, that's way too many referrals in too many programs to try to help, lol).
Sometimes getting a referral and watching them make help at money to the inactive referral's account can/will encourage the inactive to become active. I know it's more work promoting, but to be honest it's a method I have used in order to obtain trust and friendship from many inactive referrals.
Up to you, Wolfie, I'm not trying to be bossy...only trying to offer alternatives :)
As for your question, I wish I knew the answer to that.
If you find out, please tell me why people take the time to sign up then not investigate what they just signed up for.

*Totally Flattered*
I'll not lay claim to the title of guru of anything, but I certainly thank you for the compliment :D.
I currently enjoy TrafficSoldiers as a free member, and I still get good traffic from it though my downline is small due to slack promoting. However, I know the admin, and if Pat is anything, he is honest. So, if you do choose to upgrade, you will get everything that your are supposed to as well as honest answers to any questions you might have.
As far as being able to give an upgraded opinion, I simply can't as a free surfer.
BTW, make sure you make FULL use of those brandable splash pages if you are not already :)

Truly, such a statement, why bother. I have one referral, yes you heard me right, I have one referral from being on here for the past 5 or so months, and getting him to respond to discussions is almost as good as pulling teeth and he is a very good friend of mine so it makes it hard since he knows everytime I talk to him I am going to ask, so as of lately we don't talk much. But I have referred others, they show up, sign up and then nothing and I get notta so yes, good for anybody who has active referrals, I wish I did.

Maybe many people get all excited about signing up on a site expecting to make easy money. Then when they find out it takes some initative and work, they give up and try to find the pot of gold at the end of the keyboard. This phenomenon is quite common. People say they want to make changes or make more money and do this and do that, then when they find out it involves work and effort, they just go back to whatever they were doing, which is probably very little. It doesn't matter what kind of income producing opportunity it is, but to be successful you have to work at it and not just 20 minutes a day or every other day. And then again the problem might be because the system or program is too complicated for the person to figure out. It is easy to get all fired up about an opportunity, but quite another to make a full time effort to make it work. Many are looking for the easiest way out in working and in life.

I've only got 2 mylot referrals so far and neither of them have done anything it is frustrating. I think people must just forget they've signed up and never come back to the site again. My two referrals haven't even accepted the friend request sent to them when they sign up so I can't even contact them to encourage them which is really annoying, I'll just have to wait till I get an active referral.

The worse thing is, you can't actually delete them, I have (13) by my referrals and yet ONLY ONE is active. Some of them have been there for six months still with friendship pending. Why can't we be allowed to delete them! I know you can't even send them an email, so it's even more frustrating. Referrals are HARD enough to get and when you do get one you're like YIPPPPPEEEEEE and there they sit and DO NOTHING...GRRRRRRRRRRRRR....

I have 11 referrals .. of the 11 3/4 are inactive .. of the other 1/4 only one was really 'into it' and even that person has now stopped posting ..
It's such a shame as they were all enthusiastic when they started .. it is real money .. and it does get paid .. I am really disheartened by the whole referal idea .. for some reason I never ever get good teams going ..

That's happened to all of us. However, I've*also* been the one who signs up and then abandons, I'll admit it. I have some sites where I participated for awhile and realized it was more time consuming than it was going to be worth, etc.
Then again, they may have done it*just* to make you crazy, yes. lol

Oh sure.
I don't get why people have joined poetry and art to never post or just post one. with everything you need to give it a chance and allow yourself to grow to it :)
Least that's what I think. I wouldn't be here if I didn't give it a chance :)

I can understand why you're moaning over such thing, wolfie. Mine is a different case. I'm talking about mylot here. My upline is someone I knew personally. She referred me to this site and I happily joined. I have been actively participating here for months while my upline is doing nothing at all. I was thinking my upline must be happily counting the earnings she received from all her referrals without doing any effort at all. I don't have any single referral here. I prefer to get someone who will actively partake here too.

I agree with you so much. I have had lots of signups for programs I have joined. Most do nothing. I find it hard even when you can contact people and they don't respond. I guess that is how it goes and you have to keep trying because you will find people that do want to do something.

Yes Wolfie I have I mean I have 16 referrals here and only 5 are active out of them so that is only here and I used to have referrals on other Sites that do nothing as well but I think they will have been deleted by now for not being active
It is very annoying but what can we do to stop it

This is so true wolfie, why bother to signing up. I just have only 3 referrals and I have not earned one penny from them. One is still with pending request. Other two, they just accepted friend request but have not posted anything. This is so irritating. If someone does not want to post or just does not like the site, then should not signup. I also don't understand this.

I've never tried to get referrals for this site or any site. I come here to chat and offer my opinion. I know alot of people make alot more money than me here because of their referrals. Perhaps these people get points or money for signing up under you- and then they don't have to post- They won't make any more money- I think ig they started to post and see how much fun we have and the money they could make- they'd post!

That's a good question! I often wondered the same thing whenever I sign up under somebody I do the work and if I don't agree with the certian program I won't sign up but when it comes to me I have lot of referral under me in one program and not any of them are doing anything and it makes wonder why did they sign up. I got where I don't pronote to get any sign ups anymore I do just fine with out them (well maybe some I do ok)

That is a very good question wolfie.
In my life i discovered that i am very good at sales.
But at the begining i noticed that alote of people buy my product but they do not really use it.
The same way that you described here in mylot, i researched a bit about that, because it did bother me.
And i discovered that most of the people signed up or braught the product, for two reasons:
The first one, were people that saw me as their friend and thaugt they owed me somthing.
The second type of people were those, that just wanted to get me off their back.
I guess that is the reason that people do sign alote of the time, as our refferels, but do nothing.
