When was the last time you saw anything postive come from our troops being in Iraq. The media doesn't show us any of that. They show the chaos, the killing, the worst parts of Iraq. My brother has gone on 2 tours to Iraq, each lasting a year. To hear a soilder talk they are actually proud of being there and the positive things they have done. My brother gives an example that when he went to Iraq, when they landed they saw children in an open field just sitting there. No smiles, hopelessness. They have since opened a school and those same children are thriving. My brother has orders that will likely send him back for his 3rd tour in the fall. I fear for my brothers life and would rather he not go but we must realize there is also much good coming from our Troops being in Iraq. Please post your thoughts.

I hear alot said that the media is too liberal and doesnt report the news conservatively or objectively enuff. A few days ago I ran across a webpage about jewish americans and their controbutitions and was somewhat surprised to see how many jewish people were involved in the news media as presidents, CEO or outright owners. I find it hard to believe that as far as the war goes anyone of jewish decent would allow the war to be shown in a bad spotlight that wasnt truthful or fair. Maybe I am nieve and there are very radical liberal rich jewish people who run the news media but that seems like it would be hard to believe that many of them could all be in control of the news media. I know the news is like any other show they are worried about grabbing ratings but I also think they have their own objectives too. I hope your brother comes home safely again and I truely hope he does come home with a positive attitude once again but there are alot of people that are getting a very different picture of Iraq and its not just the media there are alot of veterans that dont like some of the things that have happened in Iraq either.

I have to say that I wish we never would have gone to Iraq either. I think we rush in to help too many people without the support of the rest of the world. Why does it always have to be the US saving other countries. I don't understand really why we still have war in this civilized world, but we do. My only point was that being in Iraq is not 100% bad and that even though bad things are happening we are doing a lot to help Iraqi's. So if we have to be there at least there are some positive things coming from it. I would like to see us pull out to but I don't know how that is possible. I guess that is what happens when a President sends our troops someplace without a plan!

That's good and everything ,but they shouldn't be over there in the first place losing their lives for a lost cause . They knew these attacks were coming before 911 hit and now we have people losing family over there and over here. Yeah they built a school over there that's cool but when we get into trouble over here who rushes to help us ,nobody! I think that the US should become like canada and mind our own over here and take of our own people. We have people living in proverty over here and I don't see the president trying to help them out. For example the people from New Orleans ,Bush didn't rush to their defense when all those people lost their lives ,homes, and loved ones. You know where he was, on vacation! And I do feel like Kanye West was right he doesn't care about black people. And that's sad that we have somebody like that running our country! Oh yeah as you can tell I never voted for him:)

I know what you mean. My husband is a Marine and just returned from Iraq not too long ago and he's due to go again later this year. We both hate to watch the news when they talk about the war. It's so lop-sided. They just like to show all the bad stuff. Nothing about any of the good stuff that's being done there. Only, who's captured, who's killed, etc. Nothing about all the humanitarian work that is being done there to help children and communities.

My brother refuses to watch anything on tv that has to do with Iraq. He actually gets quite upset. He asks that we not believe what the Media is saying and not to watch the news, as they aren't being accurate and telling the entire truth.

I agree 100% with what you are saying about the army both American and British Armies have achieved a lot in Iraq, and personally I think to pull out now would just make things a whole lot worse than they were before we started and on those grounds we should stick to it till the end.

yeah but what sense does it make to destroy a country only to help rebuild it again ,come on there is alot here that needs to be done in our own country but u don't hear people talking about that or acknowledging that. We have crime just like they do . Take some of that energy and rebuild our own country not somebody elses. You have to clean your own house before you clean someone elses! think about it!
