Dieting the right way can help obese people loose weight!! dieting doesn mean avoiding food or skipping meals!! the healthy way is always the right choice of food at the right time!! so how many of you are currently on diet to lose weight!!!

I am on a diet and excercise plan and I have been able to lose 40 lbs so far and keep it off. But i think it takes a combination of both diet and excercise to be truly healthy. No matter how obese you may be there is always some type of excercise that you can do. I also don't think that a person has to give up their favorite foods. I haven't. I have just cut down on my portions and treat myself every once and awhile. For instance I wouldn't let myself have a piece of cake until i kept on my diet and excercise regimine for 1 week. And surprisingly this tactic has worked for me. It gives me some extra motivation to stay on track.

Admittedly, I'm a bit of a yo-yo dieter. But I am back on track now! I use sparkpeople.com to track my calories and fat and so on. I don't restrict myself from eating any particular food. Instead, I try to practice moderation. I fully intend to have a slice of cake for my birthday on thursday but I will refrain from also having cookies, and ice cream, and fettucini alfredo...
Moderation is key.

I think I am always on a diet! I am almost to my goal weight though so I am very happy about that.

I am and I agree with you that avoiding food is not the anwser!! Avoiding fatty foods is ok!!! Its a mindset that everyone has to go through too. I believe that one has to be committed to losing the wait and ready to make the lifestyle change. I have had girlfriends that use whatever diet pill that is hot at the moment but then still eat at Wendy's or Burger King!!! Hello..nothing works just by itself!!!
