God answers prayers

Yes you heard me - God answers prayers. He answers EVERY prayer.
Yes I know that some of you will say "but I prayed for this or that and God didn't do it". I have had the same experiences.
Regardless, God answers all prayers. The way to understand this is simple....
God is our heavenly father; just as we have fathers on earth (or parents in general). Parents don't always say yes when their children ask for things. It is the same way with God.
He answers all prayers but the answers aren't always the ones we want. Sometimes the answer is NO. Plain and simple. Sometimes we just have to wait (Lord knows how many times my kids ask something and I tell them to wait for an answer).
So the next time you think your prayer has not been answered; remember that the answer might just be no. It doesn't mean that God hasn't heard and hasn't answered.
Just keep leaning on Him. He knows what he is doing even if it doesn't seem that way to us.
Having read what I said; do you believe that God answers all prayers or only some?
**All are welcome to answer but please I ask that atheists or agnostics not get nasty if they answer. Should you choose to get nasty to me or anyone that replies I WILL report you.

I believe God answers all prayers. Just sometimes the answer is no. Or sometimes he makes us wait. Sometimes I think we pray for the wrong things or for the wrong reasons. I try to ask God for his will to be done. Even though I sometimes wish it was my will being done I logically know better.

thank you for your reply. Don't worry our human nature causes us to want things our way. God understands.
Blessings to you.

I have said a prayer for you. Take it from me; the rough times only make us stronger people.
I have been thru so much including homelessness. God is always there. Be assured of that.

Where two or more are in agreement - I'm standing in agreement of prayers for Chryssi.
Also agree that once through those rough spots you will be a stronger person and Christian - God doesn't give us more than we can handle and there is something there to be learned you can be sure. He's the potter and we are the clay - He will mold us into what His will is for us.

I already know that. I am living proof and He answers every prayer so I always remember "Let go and Let God". I do that with all my problems and He has never let me down. I also pray to Him to excuse me for being impatient when I ask him again about the same thing. He does answer in his own time and always points the way for me to take care of any problems.

The Lord has so blessed me this morning by sending me to this site. I have had a very hard month with two deaths in our family, was feeling so sad for myself and then reading your sweet words, your thoughts and prayers my heart was overflowing with the love of God. Not that I ever really lost it, just needed to hear once again how awesome he is in my life. Like the song "Everytime I breathe I get a little bit closer". Blessings to you today. Susan

I have learned this lession - of course there are also times that you need to 'shut up and listen' for His answer also. Many times people get so caught up in everyday 'stuff' they don't hear His answer.

Blessings to you dear - my favorite times are early in the morning when everyone else is still sleeping, that's my quiet time with Jesus, sometimes I'll pray a simple prayer or read a short bible verse but most times it's just lay in bed and feel the Holy Spirit around and in me. I have a story to share about my grandson concerning this time but am going to save it for a future discussion. It's cool :)

you are correct my friend however many folks just look on God as a big santa in the sky ,in other words if i dont get all i want he dostn care this is the wrong attitude God knows what is best for us and he always does what is best for us that means it isnt always just what we want !

Thanks for the analogy. I was thinking along the same lines but my brain couldn't come up with a good analogy like you did so I left that part out.

No God doesn't answer and does not listen to all prayers, proverbs 28:9 says,"He that his turninig his ear away from the law, even his prayer is something detestable". So a persons conduct can hinder his or her prayer so as not to be heard by God. Thanks

Well thank you very much for adding that. Guess in a way though that could be taken as a no answer. I know there are certain things that my kids ask when they have been told not to. I don't even acknowledge them - they get that means no.
Not saying you are wrong just playing devil's advocate.

God does answer prayers....sometimes though, it's NOT the answer we were praying for! I am a Christian and I know first had how hard and how much it hurts with seems as an unanswered prayer, (God does answer them, but in HIS time)....or we may not want to accept the aswer He gives us. I say this again, I know this first hand! I have thought that with out a doubt that 'this thing' would happen...and when it didn't, my husband and I were torn with pain....but, the thing is, you still have to have Faith and beleive in Him that He DOES love you! You also have to remember that we have "free will" and there are things that happened to us that He NEVER wanted for us! But, because we think we know what's best, we do what we want (like a stubborn 2 year old child) Many times, He does try and stop us from making this mistake, but we still keep trying and finally, He allows us to do what we want....You know, like when you keep telling your child "No! Do no do that, that will hurt you! and you won't like the outcome" But, finally you put your hands up and say, "okay, if that's what you want but, we'll don't you know, I will say told you so!" So, God does know the outcome of our actions, He may even try to stop us....warn us...but He loves us so much that we can say NO to Him, We have 'free will' to do it....No one can 'grow new limbs' and that is horrible, truly it is....but if you beleive in Him, trust in Him in ALL times!!!! God can use you...you can make a difference for someone else. He knows how strong you are right now, He is calling you to lean on HIM!!! Go to Him and trust Him...by the way, we are human and He knows that we have doubt, fear, anger, pain, etc.....those emotions are also things He created and it's okay to use them...just don't let them over take you.....God Bless you!

I KNOW He answers prayers. For a fact I know this. He does not always say yes, sometimes it is a no, but for our own good. God is still answering prayers, He is still in the healing business, and YES He is still on the throne. I believe this with all my heart.

I am so glad that you know God so well!! He is truly an awesome God. All things work together for the good of those who love HIM!
I am still praying for my son's healing. The answer may just be no but I am still blessed beyond belief to have him! (on Saturday someone told me that I actually glow when I am with my son - that says something doesn't it LOL)
I wish you God's greatest blessings!

Oh I definately believe that God answers prayers. Sometimes He doesn't answer them the way that we want or think He should. We have to remember that God knows what is best for us. We don't.
We have to trust God...even when things seem so crazy and chaotic. God is in control always. He does allow bad things to happen sometimes and He has a reason for that. He wants us to know how much we need Him. He wants us to learn to trust Him and to know how faithful He really is. He wants us to grow in our faith and our love for Him.
God is good...All the time!
God bless!

God answers all prayers, but answers in a way that is appropriate for the situation and your own personal needs. Therefore, the answer you have prayed for may not be the one you get, but in the big picture it is probably for the best any way as God has other plans for you.

There's not much else I can say about this as you other Christians out there have done a good job. However, it's not always easy when God says no or makes you wait.
I've had money problems since I was a kid & now I'm an adult my money troubles aren't my fault. I've been quite ill & not been able to work for long enough between my first illness & my second illness to save any money for bad times. Is this God's fault? No. It's down to flaws in the British benefit system (Christians aren't immune). You see God trusts governments with money, but they don't always do their jobs properly.
Having prayed about money, both for myself & the charity I'm setting up, the only "contructive" answers have been for the charity & on a bad day I can't help wondering if God will only look after everybody else except me. But, God is making me wait for some unknown reason. This is hard, but He's big enough to let you tell Him how you feel about it. He doesn't ban the subject when you pray, He still listens to everything you say. But you can't manipulate God, so there's no point even trying. Just be honest with Him, He can take it. If He made the whole universe, one honest opinion isn't gonna put Him off. In anycase, He want you to share how you're feeling with Him. Even if He can't yet give you what you want, He still cares about you. Plus there may be a reason He can't answer you're prayer yet. Maybe he know you're not ready yet or maybe He's saying no cos it's not in you rbest interests.
Remember this: God cares, whether He's given you what you want, won't give you what you want, or is making you wait. But He still wants to help & He certainly won't shut you out.

Wow creative! You have an awesome attitude and I know God will see you thru your financial difficulties. We don't always know why God allows bad things to happen, but I can tell you are a strong person! God is working in you and He has a plan for you!
God bless you!

Yes, God answeres prayers. I am a firm believer in prayer. I am a firm believer that praying to God does bring about results, but not without works from us. Not only should we ask for "stuff" while we pray, but we also should say "Thank You God for all there is, that is in my life" My daughter and I are living witnesses to this fact. I'm not a religious person, more spiritual than anything, but I do know that God/Jesus/Holy Spirit does listen to all that pray and he answers/responds to prayers.
Just my two cents,

You don't need to be part of a religion to have a relationship with our living God. We should always be thankful in our prayers. NO parent wants to hear gimme gimme all the time and not hear thank yous!
May the Trinity always remain in your life!

I do believe that God has a plan for all of us and will not give us more than we can handle. There are times we may not agree with people saying prayers are not answered, but because God has a plan for us, Yes our prayers are always answered just not always the way we'd like it. I believe we should also be careful what we pray for because it may be answered and you decide it wasn't what you really wanted. I've had a lot of people pray for me the past couple months and I definately felt the power of prayer this time more than ever before in my life.

My mother used to tell me that God had four answers to prayer: yes, no, wait and "Are you crazy?"
There is one prayer He always answers yes to and that's "Thy will be done."

Yes, God answers all prayers. He may not answer in the way I want, but He knows what's best and He can see farthur down the road than I can. Sometimes, when I look back or when something happens in my life, I can see why He answered in the ways He did even if it was no.
For instance, two years ago, my husband and I tried to buy a house, but were unable to, a year later we ended up moving, out of state, and amazingly were able to buy a home at that time, without any problems at all.
