"ALBANY, Oregon (AP) - These guys were not exactly Snap, Crackle and Pop.
What began as a faint popping in a 9-year-old boy's ear - "like Rice Krispies" - ended up as an earache, and the doctor's diagnosis was that a pair of spiders made a home in the ear.
"They were walking on my eardrums," Jesse Courtney said.
One of the spiders was still alive after the doctor flushed the fourth-grader's left ear canal. His mother, Diane Courtney, said her son insisted he kept hearing a faint popping in his ear - "like Rice Krispies."
Dr. David Irvine said it looked like the boy had something in his ear when he examined him.
When he irrigated the ear, the first spider came out, dead. The other spider took a second dousing before it emerged, still alive. Both were about the size of a pencil eraser.
Jesse was given the spiders - now both dead - as a souvenir. He has taken them to school and his mother has taken them to work. "
Can you imagine how you wouldect to this?

I can't imagine having something like that making it's home in my ear. I believe I would really freak out if that had happened to me. Yikes! That would have been horrible if the spiders decided to become aggrevated in some manner and bit something inside that boy's ear. Oi, I don't even want to imagine that pain that would have caused.
Though it makes me wonder how often this boy's ears were being cleaned out in the first place.

Well that's the first time I have heard that, but anyway I have to clean out my kids' ears otherwise they end up with bad earaches. When I had them checked out the doctor told me it was from to much build up of ear wax. And since I have been cleaning like the doctor said for me to do every other day, they haven't had an earache since.

That is horrible, why would you want to keep them as souvenir? I think I'd need therapy. I certainly wouldn't want to take them home to show people I can't imagine why anyone would.

Oh my word! That is so nasty. I can't believe that spiders can nest in your ear. I would be so freaked out if I were him and not want spiders near me ever again. I'm scared of spiders anyways I couldn't imagine how freaked I would be if they nested in my ear!

Lots of ideas are running into my mind on how did it enters there? Was it an egg and was just hatch there... Or did it crawl there while he was slepping? Still i dont know..
