Hi, Kabayan! I'm Filipina too and I would have loved to speak in my native tongue and converse with my fellow Filipinos here in mylot. But alas, as of now, mylot prohibits the posting of anything other than the english language. So here I am groping for words and somewhat struggling to better express myself in this language.
It would have been easier for people like us who have English as a second language to express our opinions here in myLot. But then rules are rules, so we have to follow them. Besides posting here in myLot can be good practice for my English speaking and writing skills. LOL!
I just hope that someday soon mylot would have a section where members from non-English countries can speak in their dialect. ;)

hello friend. we're a lot filipinos here but i thinks it's not proper to use our native language here because this is an international site and the admin prohibits the use of other language aside from english. out of respect, we should fully follow rules, regulations or oders mandated by the site.

Hi,eemee468!
My mother tongue is Chinese, but I have never posted in Chinese on Mylot.I know some Mylotters come from China, but I don't think it's fair that if I post my response in Chinese,so many Mylotters would not understand whay I'm saying. But if possible,I'm glad to communicate with my friends on Mylot.com in Chinese. :)

Well eemee it is good to speak in our native language but the readership and members of mylot are global so English being a language used in almost a third of the world we use English as a mode of communication here and the rules of mylot is that post should be in English.

No, just over 200 Dutchies here anyways and asides from that it is pretty much against the rules to discuss outside of English, only translations in example when asked from what the rules state.

Unfortunately, Mylot staff is not bilingual, thats why they dont allow vernacular dialect aside from English... But it truly love speaking Filipino, it much comfortable to express the feeling if we use our native language. But since there are rules imposed by MyLot management, i'd never had the chance to use our own language..Anyways, I still love being Filipino! (even though im half chinese) ^.^

God bless and keeping on learning! heheheh.. c:

my native language is Chinese,i think Chinese is one of the most difficult languages to learn.and there are many people to speak Chinese in world.so in mylot ,it is hard to use Chinese to discussion.if someone want to learn Chinese,i can teach you and hope to make friend with you?

You go gurl! Your loyalty to Philippines is amazing. But, as much as I adore your patriotism, mylot has rules, and we should abide by them.
Anyway, the fact that you're proud being a pinoy too really warms my heart.

Hello I am a Filipina too but I try to use some local words here at myLot. I believe it is not approprite because people from the other side of the world would not be able to understand us. Just go express yourself in English. That will not mean you love your country less. Let's go girl!!

Well, the rules state that we are only allowed to speak another language on here if we are asking for translation. So, I wouldn't use Spanish on here. Comusta? That means how are you? In your language, right? At least that's what my friend told me and it is similar to Spanish :). English is my first language, Spanish is my second language, and Italian is my third language. Have a nice day.

Hi eemee, I understand your need to speak Tagalog with fellow Filipinos. I'm afraid though that it is against mylot rules. I've seen some discussions with the subject header in Tagalog words. There are some mylotters who was real upset upon seeing those threads.
Mylot usually deleted this kind of discussions. Nevertheless, I can't blame the other members who don't have any knowledge of Tagalog. I honestly have to say that I'm not good in Tagalog. I can't grasp the right diction since I'm mostly conversing in English with my friends here.

When I was a new member of this site, I've mistakenly speak with our native language which is "tagalog". After posting the said topic, I was informed that it should not be use as a medium of communication in MyLot. They advise me not to do so unless it's something to translate, or else I might be banned. I was really naive that time because I have not read the do's and the dont's of this site. I thank those people who guided me that time. I hope someday MyLot could give us some portion where we may communicate to our native language.
Have a nice day!
