I don't start solids until 6 months, so we pretty much go straight to table food and finger foods. I just make sure whatever we're having isn't too spicy, a major allergen (I have food allergies) or a choking hazard.

I was given a recipe book for my daughter, it had 365 meals in it for her but i think we only tried 1 or 2 of them.
My daughter will eat whatever we're having, she especially likes carrots & brocoli, the only time she gets something slightly different is if we're having a spicy meal coz she wont eat it, obviously!
Sometimes i'd make her porridge or something but it's not really worth it coz she'll always just leave her food & want what we're having anyway!

I mostly used the jar stuff when it was stage 1 and 2 things, most of it I could find organic. We lived in an area that had no fresh fruit or veggies, with a limited selection of frozen stuff, and I didn't have the time to make it myself, my husband was deployed. After I introduced everything to him, I mashed up what I was eating with a fork. Now after the fact, I've got one of those magic bullet blenders-I wish I had that before! I put frozen fruit in there and he loves it when it's hot and miserable outside.

I have never fed my baby ready made food, don't know if I should be proud about it or otherwise because I hear infant food available is of high quality these days. I feed her different varieties of cooked rice with vegetables, soups, lentils, deserts, all homemade.

i make it a point to cook soup or a porridge for my son once a week but most of the time he eats what we are eating except to eggs and chicken as he has allergy in it.
