I am very interested in a raw food diet. I know that it needs to be done correctly and I have not taken the time to get organized about it. In the area I live there are groups that meet occassionally to share meals and ideas. Someday soon I will attend. I will watch this discussion to see if ideas come out of it. Welcome, I notice you are new to myLot. Maybe you can stir up some raw food discussions and educate us.

Dehydrating is better than actual 'cooking' and it makes for more food choices and a lot more recipes. I don't dehydrate much though, I like to just eat my foods more simple or mixed in a blender. Veggie smoothies-mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

So I'm guessing you never made a raw pizza. I haven't either but when I see pix of them they look SO good. That's cool to go out & get a 'real' one though. I don't like to juice-too much waste. When I blend I get the whole fruit/veggie/greens, I like that.

i havent ever made a raw one and i agree they do look pretty good but i am just to lazy to reconstruct meals to make them look like the 'real' thing. and i dont have a dehydrator. yes i know what you mean about the waste from juicing. now i have a mastone (champion?)it is nowhere near as much as from my cheapy that i had for about 10years. i hardly used that either because it was so hard to clean for not much produce. i dont use the juicer very often i more often smoothie in my lil ol blender and add greens to the fruit. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

cheers vegandogo i dont really understand the difference as cooking under 118 seems to also be classed as raw. i can see an advantage of dehyrating if you want to make meals but like you i tend to eat more simple stuff. if i want a pizza i'll go to a pizza place as it is so rare that i eat cooked other than spuds or rice maybe 2x a week. i love my smoothies too, but i prefer to juice my veggies and smoothie my fruits although i often put romaine/herbs in smoothies.

I just eat pretty much every day stuff I'd say, not really any diet. Just what makes me stay on my weight throughout the year, bit more in winter bit less in summer. All the extra stuff isn't needed I'd say unless you are desperately overweight or weighing too little and need to eat more. Eating healthy is already enough :).

sorry diet is not a word i would use that should be deleted :). i agree just healthy eating and raw keeps me at a reasonable weight as well. i really notice the difference in my weight if i start cooking food.
