My cat had two favorite toys....one was a Scratch-About and the other was his Crinckle Bag.I used to buy toys for him all the time....but those were the only two he actually palyed with.Other then that he liked playing with curly ribbons that came of presents and one of his absolute favorites the ring that comes of the top of a milk bottle. He would spend hours shooting that thing across the kitchen floor....just so he could pounce on it again.
Paper bags and empty boxes seem to always be very entertaining to cats and you get those for free...so why buy all the expensive toys when you can keep your cat happy with things like that.

OMG... all of my cats will spend hours tumbling in bags. LOL
What is a crinckle bag? I'll have to see if I can find one on the net. Sounds interesting.

A crinckle bag Is made out of two layers of fabric with a plastic layer in bewteen. When your cat gets in it...it makes a noise that sounds just like a chip bag.I don't know what it is about that sound....but cats seem to love it.I found mine at Wal-Mart at the cat toy section....but you can check any pet store....they usually have them as well.

Our cat loves anything on the end of a string, she sits in my wife's lap and plays with the yarn and thread while my wife is trying to do her crafts.
The cat also like those cellophanes wrappers that hard candy is wrapped in, and loves it when you twist and ball those up really type and give them a toss.
She plays with just about anything that is lying around, and nothing is safe from her.

My first cat "old man" as he became known as later in years, used to LOVE chasing hershey kisses around. He'd never eat them, just chase them. LOL

I meant tight, not type. My typing is even worse than usual today for some reason...:)

My cat has a lot of toys- Some of her favorite ones are my feet! My sneakers, the rugs in the kitchen- no matter how many times I fix them she comes by and leaps on them! She has numerous balls of all sorts but would rather knock down the pens on the floor and fling them all around- I think her favorite toys are my feet though!

I didn't buy many toys for my cat because he doesn't like very much that kind of toys.
Usually my cat plays with all kind of balls : golf balls, paper bolls, tennis balls, like yours. He plays also with plastic things and with plush toys.
The most uncommon toy is the sausage. He loves to play with sausages before he eats them. He never eats a sausage until he plays with it. He is so cute :)

Isn't it amazing how long they will play with their food? Want to solve that? Buy a puppy that chases after it to eat! LOL Mine suddenly realized they better eat their yummies before the puppies get to them!

We buy our cats bouncy balls that have bells in them. I found them at the Dollar Spot at Target once and I have not seen them since. I really liked them because they didn't break when you stepped on them like the plastic balls did. We also get her the toy mice. She really likes those too. She doesn't really like catnip though, so we don't even bother with that. We had one of those sticks with a string and feather attached to it, but the toddler plays a little rough with it, so it's ready to go to the garbage. Our cat really likes to play with pencils, troll dolls, and barbie shoes.

I no longer have cats, but the absolute most popular toy was that ring that is used to seal the milk bottle caps. I have no idea what it is called, but you have to pull this tab to get the ring of the cap to open the bottle.
They would go crazy.
Does anyone know what that think is called?

Oh yeah! Mine love those too! They play with those and then the puppies love the plastic soda bottle caps!
I think technically those rings are considered the "seals".

I have four inside kittys and they all love those little mice with the real feeling fur they just go nuts over them. My kids have one on a stick and a string and they just love jumping up to try and catch it too. My kittys also like laser pointers they could chase that light for hours but just be careful not to get it in there eyes. The also like to get in the grocery bags to and like getting in cardboard boxes and hiding.

My cats have little mice and a feather fishing pole thingy, but I never seem them use them. They use the scratching post though, and the cat tree. Our cats don't really do much.

Do they use the cat tree much? I've thought about getting one but after seeing how well they seem to ignore "purchased" toys and use things they find around the house I wondered if it would be something they truly used! LOL

OMG my cats have so many toys they have two wicker toy baskets that are around the house and the white cat will go in with his paws and pick the one he wants to play with, usually the rabbit covered mouse, he likes to throw it up in the air. Their favorite one (before my granddaughter threw it on our granite floors and broke it) was a laser beam light that they would chase for hours and cry for you to shine it on the floors more.

I bought a variety of cat toys over the years, but most of them got lost and the cats didn't play with them much. Any kind of string or paper is usually more popular. Some cats LOVE catnip while others don't seem to notice it.
I picked up some little cloth mice for Stella, since she stays in the house, though. She plays with them a little bit, but prefers to grab at my feet under the cover!
