Do you know durian fruit? It's the season in my country. I like it so much, people called durian 'king of fruits'. Spiky on the outside and inside of the durian is a soft consistency and has the odor rank cheese. Somebody said the smell of this fruit is so bad, but for me the smell is fragrant. I have a friends, and he get nauseous when he smell it. How about you? do yuo like it?

I have seen this fruit occasionally in out grocers but never knew anything about it. I like to try new and exotic fruits but wasn't even sure how to eat one of these. How do you eat them?

Yeah..it's easy to eat durian, but the spikes like needle. Sliced open the side and then ripped a part by your bare hand. Each half can then be sectioned to get to more of the fruits. U can endded up making durian nectarine ice cream with it.Try it !

I love the durian. Widely known and revered in Southeast Asia as the "King of Fruits", the fruit is distinctive for its large size, unique odour, and a formidable thorn-covered husk. The fruit can grow up to 30 centimetres (12 in) long and 15 centimetres (6 in) in diameter, and typically weighs one to three kilograms (2 to 7 lbs). The hard outer husk is covered with sharp, prickly thorns, while the edible custard-like flesh within emits the strong, distinctive odour, which is so fragrant or overpowering and offensive to some. The taste of the flesh can be nutty ,bitter or sweet.

I have not ever had one of these before but have seen them on the foodtv. I have wanted to try them out just to see what they are like for myself. I don't think I have ever seen one in the stores so I don't know if I would be able to try one anytime soon.

Durian emanate from southeast asia, like indonesia and malay . But i think it was popular fruit in the world now.:P Remember, durian contains psychoactive chemicals, like chocolate, that make the fruit addictive to people who indulge. Ha..ha..:D

Durian...hhmm, the mention of it bring the smell to my nose. I used to eat lots and lots of durian. But now, I couldn't even finish a durian by myself. Guess it the age that it stop me from eating too much of the fruit. Plus mentally, I'm afraid of getting diabetes. Durian is so sweet that one seed of durian contain sugar as much as 1 teaspoon of it. If really I'm craving for it, I will eat one or two seed only. Here is some tips for those people to try durian, Seriously you should try. Please hold your breath from smelling the durian and take a little of the flesh to taste it. You will be surprise of how good it is. I let my German friend tried eating them when she came to Singapore. Since then, when she is here, she will request that I bring her to eat this king of fruit. Durian can be make into cakes, candy, ice cream and also durian puff. It can also be include in a dessert kind like green bean with durian. So folks, if you ever see them when travelling in Asia, do try them to experience the uniqueness in GOD creation. A thorny fruit with a smooth and creamy flesh. BTW, the durian tree is a tall tree. There is a saying that said that durian fruit have eyes cause it never fall on human being head, not like coconut.

Yup...I do it. Hold your breath from smelling durian...and taste it...The tree can be so tall. Taller than coconut, but now with new technology, they made durian's tree so small. You shouldn't climb the tree to take the fruit.

I have eaten a durian candy, but never a fruit. I didn't like the candy much and I don't think I could like the fruit. Do they have the same taste anyway?

I definitely love to eat durians. THey taste heavenly. I had them during my last trip home. It seems like you can get durians throughout the year but I prefer eating them when they are in season. It tastes better. I love the deserts made out of fresh durian.

Yes, the seasonal fruit with hard thick spiky rind. Here in Malaysia we too call durian as king of fruits. There are dozens species of durians found in my country. I prefer those with yellowish, thick and milky flesh or the one with the slight bitter taste. The D24 is the popular good species which can be obtained with moderate price here.

I can stand the strong smell of durian, but I'm not much of a fan of that fruit either. I have tasted it, and it tastes rich and pretty good, actually. I believe it's packed with nutrients, a great aphrodisiac and a close relative of the jackfruit. I don't mind eating it when it's available, but I won't bother looking for it either when it's not in season. I totally can do without it. :)

I LURVE IT! I am not addicted like I must eat it regularly, but I love the smell. Even when it's stuck to my hands hours and hours after I've washed my hands! I don't think it smells of rank cheese. It's yummy and creamy and the king of fruits! I also love the mangosteens that are usually sold side by side with it. Mangosteens are supposed to be 'cooling' alongside the 'heaty' durian.

I never thought i'd see a discussion on Durian on here! It's awesome! How can you not like it? Especially if it's that little bit bitter...oh YUM! I wish Australia had decent durians like they do in SE Asia!
