I watched the trailer, and it looks like its going to be a great movie!!! I love the warrier polar bears - that's awesome.
As I have not read the book, I will be lookin into reading that sometime.
I can't believe that some people would make it religious! Can't it be just a good fantasy book?? Why does it always have to be about god or no god!
Thanks for the website! I'll be enjoying that movie with you when it comes in theaters!

Have you seen the messages being passed around that the book and movie are "anti-God"? There is an endless discussion about in on Robinhoodfund.com. The Christians and non-Christians are using it as an excuse to bash each other.
When I received the first message, I went off to the library to get the book. I sort of like to figure out my own opinions. I am about half way through and am already anxious for the movie to be released. I do fear more hate-mongering before the movie releases. I have a problem with narrow-minded people.

I can't figure that out...never thought of the books as anti-God, but then I don't think the Harry Potter books promote children to become witches either...Rowling got a lot of bashing from her books too.

I'll have to get my son to download the trailer for me. I'm on dialup and movie clips are a major pain. I have my fingers crossed on this one. I love the trilogy, and even though I'd like to see the whole thing filmed, I would hate to see it spoiled. Having big stars like Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig worries me a little because their roles might be expanded and change the emphasis of the book. But maybe it will be a great as Lord of the Rings. All fingers crossed, knock on wood...

hi pye! ^__^
i already watched the movie last night. the effects were spectular! i haven't read the book but i felt the events in the movie were so fast, like the story was kind of dragging. and it really made the viewers hanging in the air. they should have put "to be continued" there to complete the hanging effect. ^__^;; the ending wasn't really an ending. it was so open.

thank you for that notice- I went to the link and loved it. beautiful. Can't wait to see it. I don't know a soul who will go with me. Except to tolerate the experience and keep me company. No one who will savor it - could'nt get anyone to read it. i am a person of feeble persuasuive power.

Did you try the link about Daemons??? They have a spot where you can discover what you personal Daemon is by answering a few questions...I did it four times...a little different answers each time, yet my personal daemon was always a Tiger...hehehe

How very random- and so was mine- hmmmm.Perhaps out of 83501 daemons-only the tigert was completed as a possible choice-for anyone.??? would that happen to us? Would the people responsible for this beautiful website be so lame, so narrow, so-naw.

I heard ages ago it was going to be made into a film, but nothing else since! Will definetely have a look at the website. I love the books so really want to see the film - hope they make all three, though the third book is very thick!!!
Anyway in the UK it's actually called Northern Lights (This was the authors title - think maybe just changed for the US) so i wander what they will call the film over here!!

Amazing the differences in titles between countries...if I remember, the titles of the Harry Potter books are different in both countries as well

It does look like a captivating movie. I'll see it when it comes out, I think. If I can read the books first, then I might not have to see the movie if I do, in fact, disapprove of the messages in the movie.
