Now that the writing bug has hit me. My head is so full of ideas I'm having trouble keeping them all . I am writing these ideas down as fast as I can but they won't stop!!!! Any of you writers having this problems?? its driving me crazy. I mean I can only write so many things. lol. Do you think its a good thing to have ideas popping up all the time like that/? Should I research them or should I just leave them on paper and think about hows to write them?? What would you do?? What are some writing tips you have found help you with your writing/?

I find that having a scrapbook or notepad beside me so I can get out all the ideas even tho they are coming thick and fast! Trouble is my good ideas seem to come at night when I'm tucked up in bed trying to get some sleep and my pesky brain is racing coming up with ideas left right and centre, by the morning they're gone! Write them down and then you can research or deal with them one by one and not altogether which will only confuse matters and give you one stonkingly bad headache!

Hello.mssnow, when i have some new ideas,i will keep them in my mind so that i will not forget them,i may not need to write them down on paper. May be if you really get a lot of ideas, you really need to drop them down so that you will not forget them.
I always like to read some articles and i can always get some new ideas from what i experienced everyday or from the internet.
GOod luck..I am sure you will have a lot to write once you drop dpwmn your ideas.

I just write as it comes to me
I have another 2 Chapters here that I have to type up and started the next one lol at the moment I am doing well again on my Book and I hope it keeps up so I can finish it lol

Too many ideas, too little organization. They go wild and drive me crazy, but it usually means that I can't focus on any single one, so I don't get much work done. I try to take notes so that I don't lose too much, but of course, I either don't get back to them, or when I do read them, they don't make any sense because I couldn't take the time to develop them enough. I keep thinking about getting a little tape recorder so I can just run off at the mouth whenever I'm overflowing with ideas because it's so much faster than trying to write them all down.

"Have you ever started to write one and then thought about doing a different one instead lol i do that all the time lol"
Oh yes. That's part of the problem. Every idea turns into something else before I can even get going.

I wish i had the writting bug at the moment, im having serious writers block lol, i think its brilliant for you to record them i keep my ideas all in a database and rank them as to how much i like them and if i can include it into a previous story or if they deserve their own story. I have these ideas but i cannot use them my mind is so dry and it needs watering lol and if i got the writters bug right now...i would record everything and make notes on how i would use them and give little snips of how i would use them, that was my mistake with my last set or ideas hehe

It's extremely irritating to me, when I get an idea, and I have to remember it. I also get distracted easily, which makes things more of a challenge. Plus, even when I write it down, I often don't recall exactly what I was trying to remember. Heck, I forget what I wanted to remember even as I'm writing it down. I remember reading in a Far Side book, I think it was Gary Larson's anniversary special, that he has often forgotten ideas because he didn't write them down. I know how he feels about that.

well done on all your ideas :)
I am only now just starting to explore my interest in writing, I have just started to keep a dream journal (had a couple strange ones last night lol) to see if any ideas stem from there. I have a few at the moment, but they're all kinda intermingled at the moment, so need a few more ideas I think to really sort out where I would like the story to go.
I would be writing down all your ideas, even if it's just a one line reminder, then in the future you could expand on what you don't use now, or even end up combining some ideas.
I think it's quite exciting having ideas and trying to plot out how you could turn it into a story!
Do you write fiction or non-fiction? I'm looking at (eventually) putting together a novel, but we'll have to see how it pans out!
Good luck with your ideas and writing :)

I write as ideas come into my head, normally recording them in Word, to save for completion at a later date, if necessary, but poems, I can normally write straight off, because they're my current thoughts.
I would make as detailed notes as you can, as you would to remember a dream. Then, when the ideas have stopped coming, start putting the pieces together. Otherwise, you might exhaust your ideas, and hit against a blockage. This happens quite often to writers, as well.
Make the most of the ideas that are coming at present, my friend.

I keep two lists 'future article topics' and 'story ideas' (this is for the book I'm working on and have been for years). When I write something on a list then I cross it off. I also will make notes of sub-topics to include sometimes but not always.
I say research and write - they're not doing you any good just setting in your brain or on a list.
My plans for the summer once my youngest leaves and the house will stay clean and organized and I'll be getting a good nights sleep every night is to write one article and one book story (collection of short stories) a day. Depending on writing assignments I may have to adjust that but for now is what I would like to do. And, I plan on taking at least 1 day a week off completely and doing some photography.

LOL - do you know this is the 3 time in as many days that I have been referred to as 'a mentor' I've never thought of myself that way but it's a very high compliment in my book and makes me feel really good - I just pray I don't let any of you down :)

Goodness. You must be very lucky. Quickly jot them down or you will definitely forget them. Trust me. I am an old hand on this.

You need writing materials, not a scarf. Where did you place your brain anyway? *roll eyes*

That's a good problem. Jot down all your ideas just in case they run away. I am not a writer, but I am familiar with what you are having. Often, before I fell asleep, I would get inspirations and ideas of what I needed. Take for instance, for mylot, it could be the topics to post for discussions. The inspirations would come at the wrong time, when I am too lazy to get up to get a paper and pen. I reminded myself that I will remember the next day, but come the next day, all is gone.

Wow! Seen all these responses from everyone. I am so envy you. I am still trying to write a book, but i just stuck there and the idea just stop crossing my head. You are very blessed. Instead of asking everyone suggestion, maybe you could help someone sort out the writing problem (maybe you could help me?) i want to "really" produce a book.

I'm not a writer but I do have stuff like that with other things though like drawing, then I just tend to make quick sketches of whatever comes up to work it out later. Perhaps with writing that is something what can be used as well?

This is a common issue, though I wouldn't call it a problem. Write them down, so you can focus on you're current porject. I find that if I don't write them down, they buzz round in my head & I can't focus on what I'm trying to do. You can always come back to them later. The annoying thing for me is that I often think of stuff I'm not so keen on doing, but what I really want to do, I have trouble coming up with the basics like character's names! Don't even ask about that one!
Go for what you find you're most passionate about. When you look @ your list of ideas, which ideas grab you & which ideas dya feel you could come back to later?
Don't go anywhere without a pen & notepad. You may get an idea for a book or maybe a short story inspired by the old lady on the bus.
Don't be frightened of having two or three things going on @ once. You may have writer's block on one or two of them, but be just in the right frame of mind to write some more for the other. That way you don't feel like you're wasting time, just cos your brain won't let you write about "athlete's foot" today!
Most importantly of all, RELAX. Writing is always more succuessful when you're more relaxed & enjoying what you're doing. If you're not enjoying what you're doing, put it to one side, do something else & come back to it whe you're enjoying it again. If you're doing the same project day in day out, it can drive you mad. So take break from it & come back to it later.
Have fun!

It is lucky that ideas find you,but It is also very disturbing.
and I think you can take notes about the quick-idea,and when you have enough time, arrange them.
