Our Cub Scout pack held it's Pinewood Derby....

Our Pack Derby went well this past Saturday. We had 10 boys race in 4 categories. Only 1 Bear was able to finsih a car so he will go to the District Derby on the 19th for sure. He took 1st Place overall for the Pack. His car is really fast. We had 4 wolves race and only 2 can go to the District so that was a really heated race. The boys were all good sports and had a lot of fun. At this point our Pack only has 2 Tigers so both will go and we had 3 1st year Webelos compete for the two spaces. We have one 2nd year Webleos that did not make it to the Pack races but he will advance to the District Races though, if his car is finished. Many parents, siblings and even a couple grandparents attended the races. we had koolaid, cookies, mini muffins and cheese curls for snacks mid race. The "officials" needed time to tally up each groups races and see who would then race for Pack 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place. A Bear took 1st Place, a Wolf took 2nd Place and a Webelos took 3rd Place.
Has anyone else on mylot held or attended a Pinewood Derby yet this year?

I have 3 sons that are in cub scouts and our pinewood debry was a few weeks ago. We spend alot of time building cars in our house and we never win. Of course it is more about the fun. We have over 40 scouts in our pack so it is an all day event. The top 3 from each den go on to the multi town derby that our pack runs as well. That is considered a fundraiser and there were over 100 scouts there that either competed or cheered on.
