What do you think about Linkin Park's new album - Minutes to Midnight?

The title is a reference to the Doomsday Clock, where "Minutes to Midnight" is a measure of the proximity of the world to nuclear destruction. At the time of the title's announcement, the clock stood at 5 minutes to midnight. Mike Shinoda has explained that the album has various meanings:
"Don't take that at face value. There are layers of meaning, most are metaphoric....It's definitely a reference to the doomsday clock - the Apocalypse - a metaphor for the death and rebirth, but it could also be applied to the music industry, sort of tongue-in-cheek"

I did get my hands on a download version of the album, and well....they just dont sound like them. no more numetal. and yet, war, disasters and all the problems are what the album focuses on. it's really a good compliation, even if the songs themselfes are not what you would expect. and yes, globa;l problems, floods wars and maybe even doomsday is a topic of the album. and you can find some nice bits too;) if i was to rate the album i'd say its 7.5/10 - LINKIN RULZ!

i guess since chester has recovered from a throat cancer disease...hes refraining from screaming like he used to.....so theyve choosed a mild kind of a topic for their new album.....notice he does not scream in any of his songs in "minutes to midnight"

Yes most of the songs from minutes to midnight are little mild. But there are few songs in this album, where chester has screamed like anything. For example, songs like, bleed it out, No more sorrow and Given up. Chester's screaming ability is incredible and mind blowing.
