What is the perfect mothers day gift?

Please describe some of the things that are considerable gifts for older aged women. You may share your mothers day experiences, and gifts you have considered before in the past, or come up with new ideas. I need to know of a good gift idea that is under $100 for mothers day. Any good suggestions?

My mom is almost fifty and I am the middle child I just had my first child so I though she would really love a documentation of my childhood and the begining of my * new life* . Hope it gets teh ball rolling.

I was more so looking towards something that I can purchase from a store, such as perfume or somthing along those lines.

I don't imagine this is what you are looking for but as a mother of grown children and grandchildren I will tell you that the best gift I recieve from them is their time and attention. They are all too far away from me to come and sit with me and have a cup of tea, but I know I will be receiving many long, sweet phone calls. And nothing can be better.

I'm sure I'm the oddball mom, but this is my least favorite "holiday". It feels so forced. My kids, DH won't let me do anything, so we can do something as a family. But it just delays all my work til another day. They say they'll do the laundry etc... but it doesn't get done. They have good intentions, but I just don't like it.
