do you ever have a night where you feel like the world is against you? I just had one of those nights. The bowling alley mechanic called us stupid for throwing too many balls down the lane and coggling up the return machinery. Is it my fault that he's not competent enough to make sure it works well in the first place and not make us throw more ball down the stupid lane that we have too??? ooohh...and how unprofessional is it to call customers names! And the people next to us were subtly making fun of my friend, and thank goodness he didn't pick up on it, but they were pissing the crap out of me. And i'm mad at myself for not saying anything to them...and this is the second time this has happened at the bowling alley. I'm really starting to lose my taste for it. grrrrrrrr.....

Calm down jack.the fault is not your's or your friend's.It the alley mechanic's incompetencethat was telling on him.You just happened to be at the receiving end.It could have been anyone else,he ahd to take out his frustration of his own shortcoming.
Youdid a right thing by not retorting back as,this would have left no difference between you and him.
As for me,oh,i feel so many times that the world is against me.It happens with everyone. So keep smiling.Cheers!!

Don't go back, is there not another bowling alley in town. In my city we have 3 at least. You know, I'm sorry that things turned out so horrible, sometimes days or nights just don't go the way we want them too. Did you complain to the management? Sometimes you can do that, and they will look into the situation, especially since the machinery didn't work like it should have.
Don't worry about not saying anything to your friend, sometimes in these types of situations one dosen't really know how to react, and since you were already upset enough, you would have probably done something you would have regretted doing. For now, just try to relax and breath. Things will get better. :)

Thanks. We actually spoke with the guy at the desk (don't know if he's the manager or not) and he took his side, which was definitely weird. It's highly unlikely that we will revisit that bowling alley again. Such a shame. Thank you for your comments. I'm starting to feel better.

How rude of that dude to have called you (paying customers) names! I'm sorry that your evening out was so frustrating! I'm sure most of us have had those kinds of nights (if not all of us at some point). Perhaps it would be best if you and your friends move on to a better bowling establishment next time! But first I think I'd have to call and report old boy's crappy attitude to the management!!
Best wishes for a better tomorrow! :)

hmmm. i've had days like those...one time i almost got into a vehicle accident--TWICE! hahah it seems like the world was being populated by bad drivers that day. anyway, i'm actually glad that you did not react to the people making fun of your friend that night, since it could have led to something worse. the longer you can keep your cool, the better. its the people who get stressed out easily who are more likely to die of heart attacks ;)my advice? find another bowling place where the people treat you better, because you know you deserve it ;)

I know just how you feel. My alley is full of faulty equipment that has been known to eat bowling balls and spit them out chewed up and useless. My home alley's owner prefers to invest in used equipment rather than new stuff, so it makes everyone mad at him, but he is quick to point the finger elsewhere. It can be so frustrating. Luckily, he has never called us names or noticably made fun of us. In that respect, I think it is terrible and am truly disgusted at the poor treatment of you and your friend.
