I heard a lot of people said feng shui had help them improve their business. Feng Shui is not a religion or even taboos. It is more like how you arrange certain things in your place. With "right" arrangement, it will bring you good luck. Has somebody out there practised feng shui? And did it really work? Or is it just superstitious belief?

I have been practicing feng shui for years now in some things that I do. Feng shui for me is definitely not a religion and taboos. Feng shui is balance, comfort and harmony of all things. When I started reading feng shui and its principles, I came to understand why I get uncomfortable in some places or locations. Such as I don't like my office table facing away from the main door. I had always wanted a view of the main even indirectly and feng shui explains it that it is a position of power and control that I am seeking. I also don't like angles and sharp object and in feng shui, sharp object create what is called poison arrow of strong energy that it disrupts other energy. I love to live in a place where there is balance and one would certainly feel comfortable and if one is comfortable, we are happy and if we are happy we work better and deal with others better. That is feng shui, balance and harmony in all things around us.

Very good question. The principles of feng shui is a product of thousands of years of study and observation and they all have very logical explainations. There are instruments that feng shui experts also use such as the compass. Though feng shui could detect the presence of supernatural things in certain areas or location, but the tools that they use is not supernatural. All things have certain energy, good or bad, and energy in science can be determined, detected and controlled.

I quiet agree with you. But I still believe Feng Shui is a bit influenced by supernatural belief, if not much :)
For example, of course by science energy can be detected. But how do you differentiate between good and bad energy? One more thing is about things placement. If I follow the advice by feng shui but at the same time I'm just fat lazy worker, what is the chance my business and life will be successfull?

am not really quite sure what feng shui is all about, what i know is that it's about energys.. that there are certain right places for things to be to welcome the positive enegry. i had a classmate way back in the university whose family practice this feng shui thingy..well, she told me that they are not allowed to put their soes and sandals under their beds, nor are they allowed to bring in water inside their rooms..they have elephant figurines that faces directions..etc, etc.. they got a lot of restrictions and guidelines to follow~ :)

I'm not convinced that all the feng shui ideas are real, but do know that some aspects are certainly very true. The affect of our surroundings does impact on our mental state, and emotions.
I had a flat which had burgundy red woodwork, and whenever I was in it, I felt more of a frustrated anger inside myself. When I painted over it with a medium dark green, I felt more relaxed in the room.
Also, I think it can be very distressing when you can't find something you nedd, so reducing clutter, and keeping things tidy, does help remove that particular form of stress.
Some is good old common sense, and works. Some may be less useful.

Hello,iszo07, honestlyi do not have much knowledge on it,as i know many asian successful business people have practice it ,they try to make sure their home and office have good' feng shui',like they have set up some special decorations on the walls or tables so that they can bring them luck and good feng shui. It seems that it works sometimes, but may be it is supersititious too.

I do arrange my home and office with a little guidence.
I fell more comfort after using those help. eq like we should not put anything in door step.. means that something like crashing that something while we stepping in our house or room. another sample like never put a stove in front bathroom door. it's true. beside avoiding some bad flavor, the sight it's not comfort either. Agree?

In my opinion, your case is more too interior design consultation stuffs rather than Feng Shui :} Feng Shui I believe is more like supernatural thing. For example, use red logo for your company because it is suitable with the company name and the energy or red color will drive your company toward success (something like that). If I follow the Feng Shui guidelines but I'm just fat lazy a** who hate to work, what is the chance my company still be successful?

personally i think its just mind over matter. if one strongly thinks that they will have bad luck just because of a certain way a furniture is positioned in the house, then i think that will inevitably happen.
