Should MyLot have sponsored discussions?

That may be a way - possibly the only way - to make earnings here skyrocket. What if the blogitive/payperpost model was used here except instead of being paid to link people would be paid to start discussions about a certain product or website. And then other people would get paid to comment on those discussions so that they won't languish in the brain busters section or just get a couple replies and that's it. Who would get these opportunities if such a system existed? I'm not sure how it would work but somehow responsible members of the community would have to be found and offered a share of the advertisers' money in exchange for starting or jumpstarting discussions. What do you think of this idea? Does it have a chance of working? Would you be interested in participating if given the chance. Maybe this could be the business ventury that Oldbuddy was alluding to in his recent post. I'm going to bed now, so if I don't respond I'm not being rude - just asleep.

Sounds good to me. Have you ran it by MYLOT yet? Maybe they would be willing to do it. ~Remember to give out +'s when it's deserved & select best responses. It helps us all out ;-]

I don't know how to run it by mylot. If enough people comment then maybe it'll get noticed. Or someone else can run it by them for me. It seems like bad form to show them my own post.

It wouldn't be bad form to show them your idea. It may help us out here that actually try to post real content and respond with real thoughts on the toppic. I know that I would certainly like your idea. It may help to smarten this website up a bit.

That is a great idea. That would even encourage more people to post full statements/answers, instead of just throwing out a couple of words. Great Question.

Ethan, I'd love to be a part of that kind of system. I have no idea if it would work or how it would work but it sounds really good the way you lay it out.
