I feel like it's just me, but there has to be others that share this problem! I have two kids and a husband (big kid). Also a home that was built in the 40's with absolutely no storage (tiny closets). Our house stays cluttered and I never want anyone to come over!!! Any clutter control ideas? Anyone share this problem? My friends say they don't care what our house looks like, but when we go over to their house...their houses always look great!!! Well, I am on a quest to get organized. It is so aqainst my nature, but I am determined!! Any tips anyone? HELP!!

It seems we collect clutter also. Ive been trying to get it under control. We have a big box that we all put things that we no longer want. When the bx is full we take it to Goodwill and donate it. I also try to throw more things away. I pack things into totes also and store them in the shed. Like out of season clothes and decorations. I sold alot of stuff in a huge yard sale. If I hadnt used it in 6 months I got rid of it. Good luck.

My house seems to be permanently cluttered and no matter how hard I try to keep it clutter-free the stuff tends to breed over night. I have been working on one room at a time though, spending a whole day just clearing out one space at a time seems to work. I managed to clear the upstairs bathroom and the back bedroom over the weekend by concentrating on just the one space.

I don't know how many rooms you have in your house and if they are all in use. I have solved the clutter problem by using one room to stick all the stuff that otherwise would be cluttering the other rooms. I don't have a attic or a garage so I had to decide to do something about the clutter. For me it works good because I don't use the one room anyway. I don't know if you have a room that is not in use. If you do that would be a way to take care of the clutter. I close the door to the clutter room and the rest of the house looks great.
