does GPA really matters???

what do you think whats the importance of GPA.i have graduatde with very good GPA and after leaving college, i have forget it myself.People with lower GPA are doing better jobs and GPA is nowhere except in my transcript.Practically GPA has very little to do in your life.This is my personal experience,,,what you say??

GPA does matter when you're applying job, at least you will pass the first test. Those HRD will eliminate whoever get GPA below than what they expect to. So, you should thanks to yourself to have a very good GPA.
About doing better jobs, i think everbody have their own talents and, if you're not doing good maybe something's wrong around you that you're not suitable with, environment, boss, colleague, etc.
anyway, people with not very good GPA are doing better jobs that's because they wew busy with their organization during college, or already had an internship everywhere. Those experience make them better than the very good GPA who were too busy studying to do organization during college. And it will be hard to believe the one with low GPA because he's lazy is doing a good job.
