Did you hear about the planned attack on Fort Dix?

So it's all over CNN, yahoo news ect. They arrested 6 I believe that were trying to shoot as many military as possible. They had been planning it for months, and one was a pizza delivery driver on fort dix. Considering there is an air show here (YES-we LIVE on fort dix, my husband is military!) this weekend and they are having massive crowds both days, that is so scary! Did you hear about this?

I just heard about that a few minutes ago! Wow, that must be so scary for you living there and hearing that news. Thank goodness they caught these people before they were able to do anything! My husband is military too, and although I'm living at home while he's deployed, it still made me nervous reading the story since I'm going to be living on an army base for the very first time next year. I wonder how many people will end up coming to the air show once they hear the news? It seems like this might scare away some people who were planning on coming. Well anyway, I will certainly be praying for everyone over there, and at all the military posts. I've been praying so much for our troops overseas to stay safe-it's pretty sad that now we have to worry about our troops' safety (and their families) even when they're here at home!!

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking! When my husband and I were dating and I'd go visit him at the base, I always thought staying at the hotel on the base was the safest place I could be, and that living on the base next year and raising a family there would be such a safe community! It's just so sad. My dad had his basic training at Fort Dix too, so he was pretty freaked out by the news also.

I couldn't agree with you more, and you would think you'd feel safer living on a military base, it's pretty sad to think its scarier!!!

No I hadnt heard about this. We have no cable service,but I'm going to go CNN and read about it. It is very scary. Has everyone been caught? Hopefully security is going to be very tight. I'll be praying for everyones safety.

Yeah, it's crazy! I hope everyone has been caught, but I guess you never know! Security is tight for now, but the air show on saturday and sunday is open to the public, so that's a little worrysome to me!

I didn’t hear about it- I’m so glad that they got the SOB’s prior to it happening- What the hel! Is going on in the world? I’m going to check it out- Who did they say they were? Foreign or Americans? Think of all the people that would be there- Thankfully it was found out prior! Hopefully these 6 will be punished severely in hopes to deter others from trying to shoot or bomb military bases! And you think you’d be safe on base!

I know! It almost seems like you would be safer living off base tucked into some development or community or something! They were from various foreign countries but all had been in the US for a long time. I hope they get punished good too!

Well hopefully all will go well with the Air Show and at least they caught them now before they could do anything then later after they did something.

Hopefully they cancel the air show it seems silly to have it and let everyone on base.
I still cant believe we ate OFTEN at the pizza place he worked yuck!

i heard about it just over an hour ago. OMG. this world is kinda freaky, and like you mentioned, wouldn't you think you were safe on base? that's the thing though, for example, your pizza guy...a terrorist could be living right next door, plotting and planning. they are here and they are STILL plotting. they are a patient people, and smart...we're trying to "keep them out", yea, well news flash my fellow Americans, they're already here, and have been for years. how scary. this is why i have lost so much trust. you don't know who is who or what anymore. i'm scared for our future. and they "laughed as they watched videos of attacks on Americans" i read on CNN.com? yikes. can you maybe get a group of other concerned parents/wives on base and go to someone and tell them you all have concerns about the base being open to the public for the airshow? i mean, that is scary, ANYONE can be leering around...you all are in my prayers dear. news like this makes me so nervous.

Yeah I heard about that. Scary stuff!!! I'm glad they were able to prevent it. I read an article about it on Gather.com Funny but I get my news from networks such as Gather and MyLot, before even opening a newspaper. I don't remember the last time I read a newspaper!!!
