What makes you clean your house??

We seem to be naturally untidy. My wife always cleaned more than I did, but our house would always have stuff lying around. I think it shows that our house it 'lived in' rather than a show-home. Our old house would get dusty in the in-accessible places over time, but we would generally spring-clean the entire house about once a month. We recognised through having a discussion along these lines years ago that there is a huge difference between untidy and dirty. As I say, we are very untidy, but generally prety clean. I've known poeple who constantly tidy up so everything looks neat, but on a closer look, the surfaces are dusty and things are dirty. Since the latter stages of pregnancy my wife has been neurotically clean. Most of the time, I literally could eat dinner off the floor. With the little one exploring the house now, my wife is even more adamant that she eradicates our house of dust and dirt. I often joke that she's having an affair with the vaccum because she spends more time with it than with me!

I keep my dishes done as I use them, but the vacuum doesn't come out more than once every two or three days, I have to admit. Well, I mainly use only this one room plus my bedroom and bathroom, and of course, the kitchen when I need to eat or drink. It doesn't get that dirty but sometimes gets a bit dusty. I don't think anything actually makes me do the housework... I think it's more of a routine with me. Brightest Blessings my friend.

Sometimes it's because we're having company, but a lot of times I decide on my own to clean the house up a bit. I am a stickler for cleanliness so I will end up doing the cleaning if it needs to be done. Company just makes me take more time in cleaning and pay more attention to the details of cleaning as opposed to just cleaning.

I clean my house because I cannot stand it if it is not clean. I can't really say that i enjoy it any more. I really don't have a whole lot of time to set aside to do a whole lot of cleaning. It is a chore because It is very hard to keep up with it. My house has two bathrooms and 7 other rooms in it to clean. It gets very dusty and as soon as I dust, later on, it is dusty again. I am a tidy housekeeper but I try to clean once a week. I juts like my house clean at all times but it is very hard to make time to do so.

I clean the house on a daily basis. We have 7 cats so that's like having 7 kids (or more, I think). First thing in the morning its vacumning. I do the dishes as and when there is dishes to wash. You won't see any clothes lying around my house. So, on the whole, my house is pretty neat and no major cleaning up needed for guest :)

We only clean when someone is coming over or get tired of the mess. Otherwise only the kitchen is kept clean. We are home so little there is not much else to clean.

I am cleaning my house because I have to. I like to have a clean home, and not a durty home. I have to.

I have three children and the oldest one will be 4 this summer. We also have a small house about 900 sq. ft. So I am constantly finding myself picking something up. I don't like a dirty house, though frequently things are untidy around here. I have done much better with keeping up with things since I have become a stay at home mom, but I'll never be a neat freak. With three toddlers it's really hard to have everything in its place, but I do better then most of my friend who don't even have children or just one child!

This is too easy to answer. LOL When the puter is broken or the power is out LOL Sorry couldn't help myself. I am not working out of the house anymore and find the puter intefers with everything including housework LOL Company will do it too Sometimes WEndy

My house always seems to be cluttered no matter how much time I spend cleaning it. We live in a small 3 bedroom house (about 1100 square feet) and there are 6 of us, things are a little crowded. I can honestly say I DO NOT enjoy cleaning but it is something I HAVE to do. Although the end result is always great. I do enjoy having a clean house because I feel I can relax. Too bad I can't afford to have a maid come it lol.

I pretty much keep a clean house, there may be things outta place sometimes, but not to the point that I have to rush around cleaning if someone shows up unexpectedly. I clean house for me, I don't like things messy all the time, and I figure my guy likes coming home to a clean house. It's not white glove clean, don't misunderstand, but it is kept picked up daily. I usually dust, vaccum etc once a week, since I work evenings, I do it during the week so we can have the weekends just to relax and do nothing in particular. Sometimes he'll pitch in, which is nice since I don't expect him too, he has a stressful job and I figure he doesn't need to clean house too.

I clean our house when my work area turns into a total mess. I usually don't clean but I hate it when I see my stuff messed up. Grarrl, but I don't clean that much, it's as long as it's organized.

well there are many factors ....first is our inner satisfaction...if somethin belonging to u looks neat nd tidy it gives u happiness...secondly obviously for others...and to impress others is also an important factor!!!

Im with you on that one. I clean when I know people are coming over or we are having a pary something like that. But for the most part my house is tyoically pretty messy. I mean im no pig but I will not chace after my kids all day with a broom or a trash can. It will be cleaned eventully.

I hate living in a pigsty and mainly because I am currently not working, then I have the time and inclination to do it, my housemate is at work for most of the time, so I get the peace and he's not under my feet. I don't mind housework, the only thing I don't like doing is ironing. When I was waiting to hear back from that interview, I spent the WHOLE day cleaning the house from top to bottom because my nerves were on edge! Trouble is, it's a never ending task! As soon as you've done it you've gotta start all over again!

I have a habit cleaning my house everyday if I have company or not I'll still clean it. I have always made up my bed as soon as I get up and if I don't it won't be made. Since I have hardwood floors so I sweep evryday and mope every now and then. It takes hours to clean house but I prefer to have it clean. :)

Hi MsSnow, hope all is well. I am a neat freak and so is my hubby so our house is always clean. When we Spring clean or when my parents come for their anual visit then we tend to do a deeper clean but over all our house is clean, tidy, and organized. Also I think it is good to be a neat freak because if someone is in the neighbourhood and happens to drop by or if someone calls first and says I'll be over in ten minutes then your not freaking out about getting the house clean by the time they get there.

I clean my house because it is dirty. As simple as that. Do you need another reason? :P

I clean up my my house regularly for my self satisfaction. As I am staying at home all time, so being in a messy one always makes me uncomfortable. So I feel better to keep it always neat and clean and it gives me and my hubby both a , nicer feeling when he is back home, all things at their place. But sometimes if I m out or sick, then my house is so messy as my hubby is having gr8 habbit of taking out 5 shirts, when he want to select a single.....LOL
