The makers of an energy drink called Cocaine have announced the product is being withdrawn from stores nationwide amid concerns about its name.
Redux Beverages said the company would sell the drink under a new name. Last month the FDA issued a warning letter saying that the company was illegally marketing the drink as a street drug alternative and a dietary supplement.
The FDA cited the drink’s labeling and Web site, which included statements like “Speed in a Can,” “Liquid Cocaine” and “Cocaine — Instant Rush.”
Anybody ever drink this stuff? It supposedly had twice the caffeine of other energy drinks. Would you drink it under a different name?
