Is MyLot getting a tad over zealous with all these daily deletions ??

I don't know what everyone else thinks .. but I'm getting pretty tired of all the MyLot discussions that are being deleted these days ..
I've got a wad of discussions to answer sitting in my email inbox ...I'm very aware of the fine line between a good discussion and a bad one .. especially as going through all the email notifications of discussions from my friends I am noticing just how many have been already been deleted when I go to reply ..
But try as I might I cannot for the life of me work out why some of them are getting trashed .. they have been perfectly good discussions with a nice number of thoughtful replies .. so it's pretty nonsensical to say the least ...
Now I have just realised I am sat here trying to work out whether I dare even answer some of the topics in case they get deleted overnight .. yesterday alone I 'lost' 5 rating points .. and I KNOW I didn't reply to ANYTHING untoward or against the rules .. so why did they get deleted I wonder ...
This is getting a bit daft ... it's no good at all if we haven't a clue what's a good discussion or a bad one .. which will get deleted and which will stay .. do you think MyLot are just running a random deletion programme .. or is MyLot being just a tad over zealous ...
I think it's high time MyLot became a bit more trasnparent and told us why these hundreds of discussions are being deleted daily .... we are waiting ... !!

Tootie I lost 20 points the other Day through deletion of Discussions
Now I know why I lost them I didn't at first
They have been deleting Jokes so why is there Jokes in the Interests Also a couple Friends Discussions have been deleted because a Member on here did not agree with an Opinion and there was no harm in that Discussion at all
I think it needs to be looked at closer because the wrong People are being punished here

I lost another 3 overnight .. and I absolutely catagorically KNOW all the discussions were bonafide within the rules ..
Sigh .. I had stopped replying to jokes ages ago .. I mean how can you 'discuss' a joke .. it's more of a statement than a question or query isn't it .. I don't reply to recipe ideas either now for fear they'll be the next wave of deletions ..
The way MyLot is going all the fun is being taken out .. that will soon stop newbies signing up and then MyLot risks plunging into the cyber oblivion .. hope they pay us all before tht happens ...

Well there are new People signing up but all the silly Discussions are coming up again
I think mylot will be ok they just need to stop deleting good Discussions because People are reporting them for no reason and People take things the wrong way when they get an Opinion that does not suit them

Bravo Patootie!!! I could not agree with you more!!!
I have seen many good quality discussions deleted for no apparent reason!
I think what is happening is that someone does not like a person or a discussion and reports it for some bogus reason. And sadly, the mod person doing through the reports of the day does not stop to read the discussion and just deletes it.
So...even though that person should not have reported it...myLot Mod person should not have deleted it either without reading it.
Let's hope that they will start to hear us.

Aw don't give up Patootie! You are one of my favorites! I don't really pay that much attention to my numbers but it is a bit irritating when I have a certain dollar amount one day and less the next. It does make you wonder why some discussions are being deleted. I too wish they would tell us WHY some of the deletions are being done so we can learn from our mistakes instead of just repeating them.

I think you echo what a lot of us are thinking my good friend, I have also lost a lot of points, not just a couple but a lot and it's the first time it's happened to me because like you I know which discussions are going to be wiped but lately fully legit discussions have been wiped for no reason?! So it's like a minefield now, there is no rhyme nor reason. I have particularly noticed it because I am trying to reach 5000, but it's like a carrot on the string job, the nearer I get the further away I become. The classic scenario is jokes, jokes are not discussions, but why then do Mylot have a section for jokes? Like they are encouraging people to make discussions about jokes then deleting them? Ho hum, I just don't have the answers on this one, all I know is that they are going to ruffle feathers with these new tactics.

I've seen so many folks drifting away recently .. and the worst of it is they are the good members .. the ones who conscientiously reply and keep up with all their discussion maintenance etc ..
Something has got to change .. or we'll all be drifting away .. sigh .. would the last person switch off the lights please !

Has anyone PM'd myLot saying just what you said? I sometimes wonder whether they delete something just because someone reported it without actually looking at the discussion themselves. However, I did report a discussion awhile back that got way out of hand and it was not deleted when I got back on the next day. Maybe it did eventually.
Again, I still think we have to look at the calendar when we talk about these things. Payday is approaching and this is when myLot does it's cleaning. But why they delete discussions that don't appear to have broken any of the guideline rules is puzzling to me. I think someone should PM them and ask. I would do it but it hasn't really affected me personally at this point.

You will not get banned for questioning myLot in a private message. You are right in your assumption below that this discussion might have been deleted because guidelines say not to discuss issues about myLot, to contact myLot about any issues. That is why I suggest those whose discussions are being deleted for apparently no good reason should private message myLot. Your risk is in posting this in discussion. There is no risk in private messaging myLot.

It is hard to explian. How do you know what to reply to or start a discussion for when even good discussions get deleted? Why spend some much time answering topics and losing points? Talk about spinning your wheels. It is rather disheartening. Guess we all might as well talk about our favorite color, the weather and when the big Paris Hilton jailbreak reality show will be on the tube.

The uncertainty of why discussions are being deleted is making me pick and choose very carefully .. even the whiff of a potential rule breaking and I simply discard the discussion .. so, blue is my favourite colour the weather is cool and wet .. and I don't care what Paris Hilton does hhehe

I didn't noticed any deleted discussion yet, either mine or my friends....maybe because I try to be very selective when I respond...and I search mylot before I start any discussion myself...

I've seen a lot of people complaining about this recently but I gues I'm one of the lucky ones who's never had a discussion deleted or responded to one that has been. I just tend to stay away from the obvious one liner type of discussions that are always deleted and respond mostly to people from my friends list. It would be good to see a definitive list of unacceptable types of discussions.

I wish I knew hun, when I logged in I discovered I had lost 17 points from deleted discussions. I can't figure it out really, I am usually pretty selective and respond to friends discussions first, followed by discussions from my interests. All the discussions have been well thought out and well written, most containing a fair few responses other than mine. I have no clue as to why these discussions were deleted, it does seem a bit zealous

I am very new to mylot and do not know how things work just yet. How do you know if you are losing points and how do you know when a question or reply has been deleted? I think that spending time answering questions only to find them deleted would be a bit irritating.
