For those who have been here longer than I have been, how do you keep yourselves motivated to post and respond everyday or every hour?
I have been on mylot for three months but have not been active for two months. It can get sickening sometimes how one topic gets posted and reposted to earn a cent more ... and sometimes, discussions can be on the petty side all because of the aim at raising one's earnings. I wouldn't wonder if someone started a discussion like : What color of undies are you wearing today and why?

Lol.. I think we already had the undies one. Please don't give people ideas! ha ha ha
I've taken time out once or twice because the discussions have been boring one-liners about the kind of thing you're saying and so many people post these short questions, that it takes you five pages to find a decent one, so that you get in only one or two responses per hour. It's tiring, boring and seemingly a wast of time sometimes. I don't think a lot of people understand the word "discussion" and treat this as a Q & A site, as you say, just to make the extra buck.
I've been here for six months give or take a week, now. When I first came here there were half as many people with twice as much literacy and brain power. I made a lot of friends here... very special people, and I enjoy coming in to hold discussions with them, because I know they have something interesting to discuss. We have fun together. If I run out of "friends'" discussions, I look at the new, with no responses, and my interests, and if there's nothing there of interest to me, I go elsewhere. Today has been a really slow and boring day in here, so I've been flitting about doing other things.
I hope you can pick up soon... there's nothing worse than sitting here staring at the screen reading questions you are unable to answer. Brightest Blessings and have a great day.

At least, I am not alone in the general mood that I am feeling towards this community. I come by every now and then but found the discussions too shallow to even catch my interest. Lately, I am trying to really sift through the topics but my dial connection takes forever to open a page --- and to think that I only see interesting posts in the fifth or sixth page (sigh)

Jean Rose for me it is the love of keeping up with my friends. I am lucky in that I have a group of friends who are as interesting as they are funny. Its always a pleasure to log on to mylot and see what they have been up to. I don't worry about how many posts I make in one day rather I enjoy what I am posting to. Sometimes if I can not find anything interesting to post to, I sneak into my friends profiles and see what they are posting and perhaps join in with them....Yes this is a bit like stalking but I don't think anyone minds really ))) Just have fun.

I can go days without seeing something worth replying to - and I'm not big on replying just for the pennies... I'm also not that big of a discussion starter so I don't always contribute much. Mostly, I enjoy chatting with the people I've met here and like a lot of the discussions - getting paid is a little bonus.

I find most of my friends on here are posting some wonderful topics for discussion so I try to respond to them first and foremost. My discussion topics usually come from every day life and I try to make them interesting, humourous and entertaining too.
I agree, however, there are far too many people on here posting some really dumb one-liners in the mistaken belief they will earned thousands of dollars.

honestly, what really tempted me to stay at mylot are the earnings i get every time i post and join in discussions and upload photos. i have been active for 2 months trying hard to think of nice discussions to post and giving answers to discussions with so-called quality comments (although the term quality is an ambiguous word to use since we don't have exactly the correct and proper guidelines to follow). how can you say you'll have a quality answer to a question like what you mentioned in your post and i quote "what color of undies do you wear today?"

Good day jean_rose, and nice to see you active again!;)
I guess you then have to make a good frined's list, add responsible members/mylot users of which are good topic starters/posters, responders and are eager to help you provide quality postings. Try to look for other topics, from new to recent discussions and discussions which has no responses. This and all will help motivate you, not to mention adding informations and ideas!;)
I felt like that, even until now, I still can't get the usual number of my postings here. But I try to make the very best out from it, which is to share my views and inputs to others!;)

If I get bored, I just try and take a break. If you look at mylot like a job, you have to realize you cannot constantly work at it every day, for hours on end and not take any kind of break, it just cannot be done. If I have issues with staying interested and motivated, I take a day off or so and try to do something that I really enjoy so I don't get too bored with mylot and don't want to come back. The money aspect certainly keeps me motivated.

I joined mylot because i want to earn money. Was thought this site is a scam.i love the topics and i put as many as interest i have so i can choose discussions that fits me.
Until,i came up with my first pay out $10.Ive tried to trasfer it to my account. In my surprised,i have it in a minute. That reason,it motivates me to respond and start discussions as i can everyday.
You can post discussions as many as you can.But the earning is,depends of the discussions you reply and how descriptive you are.
Goodluck...

I post whenever I feel like it. Sometimes, I do not log in for a few days and other times I am more active. It all depends on the amount of time I have on my hands. I used to check what my friends have posted first, then reply to some of those discussions. Recently, I switched to the strategy where I start by checking the discussions of my interests first and I generally find something interesting in those discussions. Unfortunately, the daily hot topic do not always look very appealing to me.

I don't know how people do it every day. I've taken a few days of mostly just reading discussions until I found something that I had an answer to and even a couple of complete days off. myLot is something you should think twice about doing when you "Don't feel like it" because you aren't at your best to offer advice to others.Just enjoy it here. I was reading where someone was only posting to topics of direct interest and that helped them get motivated as well. Good luck =)

I think this is a very valid question you ask here, jean_rose. Unfortunately, I can't give advice at the moment because I am currently in a rut myself. I have not found what works for me to keep me motivated. I will be interested in reading the responses you get to this one. I do tend to log on and pull up a few friends that interest me and try to respond to a couple of their discussions. At least at the end of the day I feel like I have helped out a friend. Help someone else always makes me feel good.

I sometimes take a break visiting this site whenever I fell that I don't have enough interest inside to contribute in discussions. Its hard to push ourselves to do things for such small amount of penny.
I'm sure everyone of us has a job respectively on its own and we are not here to earn for living so I'm not letting myself stay here for a long hours when there's no good new discussion I can find to respond on or when I'm out of idea to start a new topic.
So basically I'm visiting this site when I fell I want too without sense of obligation or just because I need to earn money.

jean rose, im new too in mylot. i dont have any intentions of being here and what it would brings me except for one thing. i love to see how interaction and reactions of those posting and responding to issues. besides, every person has different line of interest and perspective in topic. in fact, id rather respond than create issues because i fell, my interest are not the general interest of those posting here.
ENVIRONMENT is not the interest of most
