They're Everywhere!

The midterm elections are coming up here in the Philippines. And the faces of candidates are pasted everywhere I turn: on trees, street posts, walls, buildings. The Commission on Elections have stated time and again that there are designated places where posters can be placed but no, they're everywhere! After May 14, what then? Who will clean up the mess in the aftermath of the campaigns? Certainly not these candidates or their "friends" (who posted these materials in the first place). Does this happen only in the Philippines or is it the same in other countries?

Our local elections also have canditates publicity everywhere but I must say that about three days after the elecios are over everything is gone. I'm not sure who is cleaning up but someone is going it.

Lucky you! Most of the time, it's the people who live in the area who clean up after the candidates.
