Have you experienced being dead for a short time?

I saw how God changed my friend's life. He told me that he saw God while he's asleep as dead. He had a car accident that made his life into 50-50 situation. It could be to live or to die... I felt how hard it was to be on that situation. I don't want to die yet but I'm ready. With my friend's story, he saw light coming to him. He heard a voice saying, "you're not yet done.." There's something in me that refused to believe about that but I wander if anyone of you guys has the same story or situation like my friend... Share your story...

I know of an acquaintance who also had a similar experience. I think light is pretty common in such experiences.
I have been practicing meditation for quite some time and light is a common phenomenon during meditation. I am told that the light is our true self. No doubt that we get introduced to ourselves when we die!
