Mother's Day gift for stepmom : Any suggestions?

Does she have hobbies or collect something? Does she read alot or like a certain genre of movie? Barnes and Noble has a membership card for $25 you could purchase it with her name on it and buy her a book,CD or DVD to go with it. Then for a year she could purchase whatever she wanted there and get a discount or purchase something small and buy a gift card. Does she ever talk about something she loved as a kid?Maybe you could get her a nostalgic reminder of that time or a place. Weekend craft fairs are sometimes good to shop at for gifts that are unique and handmade. My Dad always talks about old time radio and how it was better. I bought him a collection of old time radio shows. He loves it. Does she talk about things she loves or wants to buy for herself but holds back? My mom does that I try to keep track of the stuff she talks about for occasions . She does not spend on herself if it is not a necessity. What about a pendant or earrings that represent something meaningful to her? Whatever you do start brainstorming on paper about things she likes or themes. What always happens to me is I will see somthing that is perfect for someone and I will remember that I once had good idea but not what that idea was. Early Alzheimers I think!!
