When I go out with friends one of two things happens. If we both pretty much eat around the same thing, we will just split the check by how many people are there. However, some of my friends don't always think this is fair (and I don't blame them, especially when one person orders a sandwich and the other gets a three course meal). So when this happens, we each pay for our own meals and then contribute accordingly to the bill.
When I go out to eat with my boyfriend, he usually pays. However, since I am making more money now than when we first started dating, I will pay about half the time now.

it depends on why you went out. if it's a treat then don't insist to pay. let your friend be happy and pay for what you eat. lol when we go out we go for dutch because we don't have jobs or we're not the rich kids. but sometimes i have friends who volunteers to pay and their reason is "it's okay, we seldom see each other this days."

When I go out with my friend we all pay for our own dinners. Since we are not rich we go to places that we know that we can afford and still have a great time. This ahs always been the best way for us. However one day when I am able I wouldn't mind taking turns on buying dinner at times.

When we were friends, we used to go for dutch. Now, as we all are earning, we compete to pay the bill.

It very much depends on situation. IF I am inviting them to go out for dinner to a restaurant, then ofcourse I would not allow to any other pay, only I would pay the bill. Sometime if I am not inviting also I pay the bill occasionaly. And definitely sometime some other friends pay. If someone is invinting specially for some celebration then that person would pay.

I often try and talk my friends into leaving without paying for a giggle but no one ever wants to do it so we just go dutch or one will pay and the ohter will pay next time.

when me and my friends will go out..of course we will make sure that we do have money..because,we know for the fact that we are all poor.lol!just kidding..we pay for our own bills..but if one of our friends told us that he/she will treat us,then thats the time that someone will pay for our bill.

Eating free is not practiced here. lol. Or at least with me and my friends. There is no such thing as a free meal.
We have this phrase in the Philippines "KKB", it means you pay your bill, i'll pay mine. Whenever a friend of mine calls and invite me for a dine out, she usually asked "kkb?" then i say sure, it is better than paying her dinner as well. lol. Even if we went out as a group, it is usually KKB, i don't expect anyone to shoulder my drinks.

We often pay for ourselves. Sometimes my friends pay for others before we go to a restaurant. If nobody say anything before leaving, we often pay for ourselves. If a friend is in trouble, we don't ask him/her to pay, we often pay for him/her.
Last three months, I had a crsis in money. so my friend pay for me. And I often pay for her when she is in trouble.
My English is not well. Dutch means that you pay for yourself, right?
Can you understand my words? Please correct my mistakes in the last paragraph, thank you.

It depends the concrete situation. If my friend invite me sincerely
i won't pay for the dinner, if we just go out for dinner may be i'll pay for it.
