I have been prayerfully studying Joseph Smith and his writings. I have decided that he is GOD's prophet and so i am going to join the Church of JESUS CHRIST of the Latter day Saints.
My message won't change much. JESUS will continue to be the center of my life and i will continue to have a wonderful growing relationship with HIM!!

I know that Joseph Smith Was a prophet of God and that we Do have modern prophets today. God would not let us be here alone without someone to guide and direct us. Throug prayer, anyone can know this for themselves.
You will never regret making this wonderful decision. I am so happy for you.

I am a member of The Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints, commonly called Mormons. It was one of the best decisions that I have ever made in my life.

true, rozy. Jesus did not leave his people, he gave the Holy Spirit as a seal to those who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Joseph Smith really is a prophet of God. He's just a farm boy and he translated the book of mormon for only 3 months. I know he is a prophet of God and so is Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley. The current prophet are always timely... He knows what we need. I'm so glad we have a prophet that can help us lead back to our Father in Heaven because of revelations... =)

Wow, if you believe that then I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona that I'd like to sell you.
Consider these facts before you join the LDS church:
Mormonism: teaches God was once a man who became a god.
BIBLE: God has always been God and was NOT once a man who became a God. (Psalms 90:2)
Mormonism: teaches Salvation is found only in the Mormon church.
BIBLE: Salvation is found through being born again through faith in Jesus Christ. (John 3:3-18, 14:6, 5:10-13)
Mormonism: teaches Jesus is the spirit brother of Lucifer.
BIBLE: Jesus is not the brother of Lucifer but the very One who created him! (John 1:3, Colossians 1:16-17)
Mormonism: teaches men can become gods.
BIBLE: Clearly states that NO ONE can become a God. (Isaiah 43:10)
Mormonism: teaches blood of Jesus does not atone for all sins, but certain sins you must atone for yourself.
BIBLE: The blood of Jesus Christ atones for ALL sins and cleanses us from unrighteousness. (1 John 1:7&9)

Church of Jesus Christ refers to those who genuinely accepted Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives to have a personal relationship with Him.He did not tell us that we need to join a particular religion or group in order for us to be included in His church and be saved. If this is so, then Jesus would be unfair...What he said in John 3:16 is this: I am THE way, THE truth and THE life, no one can come to the Father except through me. He did not say I am A way, A truth, A life.. If so, then there could be other ways, truths, lives...

I don't remember hearing much about modern day prophets and I think we always have to be aware that false prophets abound. I'm NOT suggesting that Mr. Smith is one, because I really don't know much about him. I just know that sometimes we feel led, but later find out it wasn't of God. I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm just suggesting that you beseech God one last time before making a final decision. Prepare your heart, open your mind, and ask God to protect you from any false teachings.
This has nothing to do with the particular church/religion you are discussing. I would say this to anyone seeking a "new" church or religion. God bless.

if there's a false prophet, then there's a true prophet...

Congratulations, Lonnie! Keep faithful, keep active and read your scriptures. As you can see, you will find lot's of opposition because of your choice but keep strong and know that you have chosen the true church on this earth and it will all be worth it. Remember Jesus Christ said (paraphrasing) I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it.

Well I hope all is well and you are still faithful. I was born into the church but have gained my own testimony of it. I would LOVE to add comments to some who wrote misunderstandings and misinterpretations of scripture, but I won't. But I will say that after reading the scripture that was given, gave me a greater understand and it doesn't say what the person thought it meant. That is the wonderful thing about the LDS church. We don't spend our time bashing other religions. We use our time to share the gospel of OUR church, and get a greater understanding for ourselves. I don't know why others have so many bad things to say about us but every one has a right to choose. Isn't that why we are here? Our heavenly father and Jesus gave us the opportunity to come here and choose. With tools to use to help us find the way. The scriptures and prayer are so easy. Yet so is temptations. It has been said that the early members and pioneers, though went through horrible trials, pain and suffering would not want to be in our shoes. (this quote isn't exact but goes something like this) Though up to their ankles in mud and snow, we are up to our necks in temptation and immortality. Joseph Smith and his followers were so faithful. After all they went through they still did not deny what they knew to be true. Any other would stand down just to save their life. For example Warren Jeffs, who I might add is not a morman and never has been, people get the religions confused. He came out and said, no, I haven't seen god bla bla bla. Anyways. We are all so strong, congrats to all of you who stand your ground.
