It Comes in Threes

My mother just called to say that my brother's mother-in-law is being taken off life support today. She went in for surgery earlier last week and her health has been slowly going down since. On Sunday, she showed signs of hope by squeezing a person's hand when they spoke to her. Now, she is still. When the rest of her family arrives today, they will stay with her when they take her off life support. They will stay with her when she passes over. We had an old friend of the family succomb to COPD last week. I am not sure how Koos is doing, but I assume that he will be crossing soon. Life is short. Live it to the fullest. Love much.

The good part is that life on a support system is not life at all. It's simply machines living for you. I don't know about you but I would prefer to be with my maker then be kept alive like this. When it's your time, it's your time. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. God be with you during this hard time.

My Brother Bill left a message for me this afternoon that Nancy had passed. The kids were angry at the hospital for keeping her on support systems for so long. Thank you for your kind words. Huggers to you....Sarina

When you lose people so quickly you really need to take time to ponder on the important things in life.

It is heartwarming that your Mother-in-law will have her family with her. Her passing will be peaceful & she will be aware that her family are there.

Euthanasia is always a difficult decision. To keep hoping or to make closure. Sentimentality and practicality. To keep them here or to let them go. I don't know how I will decide if brought to your family's position. I'm sorry to hear of this happening to you. The best way to think of this is that you will be releasing them from the pain of being chained. I hope everything works out for you and your family.

I know what you are talking about. It has been crazy around here also. My daughters friend was killed in a motorcycle accident, my grandma had a heart attack, she came home and the next day had a stroke. I am afraid this time she may not come home. I am so sorry for all your misfortunes.

It does make us think about what is important in this world and out of the sadness comes a time when we can reflect and often resolve things and look at life more positively and how we can make the most of it. I remember your discussion on your friend, it is sad to hear he will be deprting from this world shortly, and I hope your brother and his family get to say their goodbyes, which means so much. My thoughts are with you all Elusive.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We've had 3 deaths in our community recently. Very painful. We need to love and live while we have the chance because someday, it will all be above. The best thing about being a Christian is knowing that someday we'll all be together with the Lord. What a day, wonderful day that will be!

That is sad but she will no longer be in pain and the family will be able to end their suffering as well. Things sure do come in threes....my Dad passed away on April 6th, President Roosevelt on April 12th and a nearby neighbor on April 18th, 1945. Also ironically in usually happens with movie stars.....especially the old ones. It always seems within a few short weeks or a month or two that three pass on. I sometimes wonder why that is. Of course, it should worry us too much because Lord knows how many pass on at the same time every minute on this planet. +

Yes, so true Gif. It saddens us so much, but it shouldn't as it is a part of life that happens everyday.

Oh hun, I am so sorry. Lots of hugs are coming your way. I know what you mean about things coming in threes. It seems that bad things happen all at once and that makes it worse. I will be thinking about you.

So sorry to hear about all your recent and impending loss. I know what you're going through. It's like you keep getting hit with bad news, and every time the phone rings, you come to expect the worst. You're right, you've got live and love as much as you can.
