Yes, because it is the way that you can express your feelings with someone you meet first. Sometimes not only shaking hands but by kissing cheek to cheek is one way too.

Hello ardano!(",) Sometimes, I do shake hands when the person offers his/her hand. I noticed that most of the time I don't shake hands to a person whom I meet for the first time. I shake hand to my friends when I see them especially when we haven't seen each other for a long time. I think shaking hand is a sign of respect and friendship. It's also a way of making peace to someone. How about you? Do you shake hands? Have a great day!(",)

A handshake is a short ritual in which two people grasp their right or left hands, often accompanied by a brief shake of the grasped hands. The handshake is initiated when the two hands touch, immediately. It is commonly done upon meeting, greeting, parting, offering congratulations, or completing an agreement. Its purpose is to demonstrate good will, and possibly originated as a gesture showing that the hand holds no weapon. Men are more likely to shake hands than women, however in business situations it is considered the standard greeting for both sexes. i do shake hands .

yes i shake the hands of people i meet. its a sign of good gesture or ethics and respect for the other person. sometimes i give them a hug, but that's only when they are friend of a friend or friend of my husband. and most of all ask permission first if you can hug them before you hug them. or else they would think its offensive :).

Shaking hands is considered as a standard of greeting a person of any sexes. It is also a way to show a good impression on that person in a any meeting. I do shake hands with people especially those I get to meet in business meetings or other gathering whatsoever.
