do you face the problem that the power at your home or working place is cut off or turned off for some reason?recently the electricity at my dorm has been frequently turned off because the school is making some changes for the circuit.so the electricians have to switch off the power when they are doing the work.they did it today.for a whole afternoon we didnt have power to do anything, which was deadly annoying!all we could do was chat to sleep.no reading,no homework, coz it was bloody hot so we didnt feel like to use brain.but we anyway felt bored a lot.we came to a conclusion that how can human being survive without electricity since internet has been part of our lives, and most home appliance wont work without power.moreover,in tropical zone we need air-conditioners or at least fans on for most of the time in summer.how long can we stand being away from electricity?
so does power cutting off get on your nerve a lot?or you simply relax by talking to ppl around you?what do you actually do at that time?do share your thoughts.:)

when the power goes out here we look down the road to ascertain if we are the only ones or if it is neighborhood wide. then if it is dark we will light a few lanterns and candles. We like to play certain games by the lantern light - pray our prayers and go to sleep. :) sometimes if weather is permitting we enjoy sitting outside and looking at the stars.

It doesn't happen that often in Singapore. We just light candles and do what we have to do. If nothing can be done, I just lie down and rest lol. :P

In my country the power holding authority could cut off the electricity without even informing the masses, so the citizens are very used to it. for me, when there is no electricity, i tend to sleep earlier, nothing like watching late movies or listening to news, but in some case, we put on our generator set, with that we have alternative electricity and no one will feel the impact of the power cut off.

If the power is cut it effects me totally differenly depending on what time of the day it is and what season it is. If it was for an afternoon in the summer it wouldn't matter, we would find plenty to keep us occupied and could cook dinner on the barbecue and heat water with our back boiler for baths. It stays light out till nearly 11 PM, so that wouldn't be a problem. If it was winter when it gets dark at 4:30 and cold, and we can't get clothes dry or coats if we were soaked and we may have run out of wood for heating the house and water, it'd be a much bigger hassle. We would also have to have cold sandwiches, which in a cold, dark house, people wouldn't like very much!
