I was watching a programme on Sky TV a minute ago, It as a create and craft and they were doing fairies stick ons, any way there were talking about the fairies and the presenter said he was out shopping the other day and he sneezed and someone said to him Bless You, he said thank you and the person replied "you said thank you so you believe in fairies" I had never heard this story before but when someone says bless you to me I always say thank you and yes I do believe in fairies, so tell me then, do you believe??

Oh course I believe, who on earth would take away our teeth from under the pillow when we were children? I think when we are adults we lose all of our innocence, our dreams and our wonderful imagination, it's soon knocked out of us isn't it. I always remember waking up to find a fifty pence piece under my pillow when one of my teeth fell out. I think I went over the shops and bought a whole bag of penny sweets! LOL all the sugar from eating those and I'd be quids in with the fairies lol! Life is too serious we need to believe in fantasy x

I believe I believe ,,,,and I am clapping my hands. I have never heard it said about the "thank you". thats interesting I will look that tid bit up, I am sure there is a grand story behind it. I tell my grand daughter all kinds of fairy stories. Although I keep the scary one for later in her life. Not all fairies are sweet and pretty, some are quite devilish, mischievous and sneaky. Ya don't want to run into flock of those kinds when you get lost like you do WEE.

I can't recall hearing that saying myself, but I, like you, always say thank you when somebody blesses me, and yes, I do believe in faeries oddly enough. Some things have happened to me which convinced me that faeries are around. They're mischievous little beings, always out for a prank, but they love dancing and music and the flowers in your garden, so keep an eye out for them when dusk falls.
Brightest Blessings my friend. x

I do believe in fairies.........i do.....i do***
If u have seen the movie Peter pan and there is this little fairy (Tinker bell) with him at all times you will believe in fairies atleast for a while..
You know i do believe in fairies and mermaids and angels and santa and all the things that complete the universe..come to think of it if they did'nt really exist where do u think people really got talking about it like the scientists cannot prove about God's non existence people who say fairies do not exist cannot prove that they don't exist..can they??
If you believe in God and his disciple's u must believe in his other beautiful creations as well afterll mankind was'nt his only wonderful creation there are others as well only that people don't talk much about them for they feel it is impractical but ain't love impractical as well? How many people can really give their lives for eachother as they say, So go and give it a thought does'nt take a lot of one's energy..

I am not ashamed to admit that I believe in fairies. Not necessarily those pretty shiny sparkly females in book illustrations, but the wee folk of old folk legends. I can imagine a time long ago when the fae were regarded as good spirits, when druids walked to the hazel groves and when the magic of the world was fresh and new.
Oh dear I sound slightly *potty* don't I, but it's something I feel inside.

Well, don't think ia m crazy, but i DO believe in faeries. i am almost positive i caught one on film before, but i don't have the image anymore. Too bad. i don't see how the guy necessariyl believes in faeries just because he said "thank you" as a politeness to someone who said "bless you" after he sneezed...but that's ok.

Hi weemam, hope all is well.
That is so strange that having manners (saying thank you) would mean that you believe in fairies. I would like to believe that their are fairies, but I'm not sure I do.

I say thank you but I don't believe in faeries.
Do you know about faerie mounds and faeirie rings? We have the 'mounds' all around where I live and you can see where the stories may have originated, about the 'people under the hill'. 5,000 years ago people did make enormous stone mounds, and did go in them, like at Newgrange and Loughcrew. Eventually they were abandoned by their original builders, but were still revered as spooky or sacred or haunted.

i would say yes i do believe in faeries even though i havent seen them i used to do alot of research online and one was about faries and i actually read how you can contact them and what not, so i believe they do exist, but as far as the "bless you", that is actually derived from the age old belief that if someone sneezes their sould jumps out and you say it to have their soul return to their body before a eveil entity enters it

Yes i do believe in fairies. I also believe in other things that I have never seen. I have never seen a spirit or ghost but I do believe that they exist. I think it might be just a part of how we are raised as to what we believe in.

Oh I certainly do! I grew up reading fairy tales and Mother Goose nursery rhymes. Our world is so filled with unpleasantness sometimes that everyone needs to believe in something to help them escape the harsh realities. I even purchased a book a couple of years ago by Dr. Doreen Virtue, "Healing With Faries." She believes that they really exist and can help to heal us.
