What Does The Rating Do?

I've seen a number of people write that they are annoyed by how few people rate their responses to questions... I didn't even notice the rating when I spent my first few hours here yesterday. What exactly do the ratings do?

Ratings are supposed to reflect our earnings per post. The higher the rating one has, the higher his/her earning per post is. That's what I and a host of myLot users believed.

Like the poster ^^^^ mentioned we Myloters got this theory the higher the star the more money you earn per post. How High or low the star is depends on what the Myloters rate you. In my situation I feel i deserve a higher star but some people live in a fantasy world and don't like reality I guess. So be it I say ;)
