How to start online teaching ?

I currently teach some on-line classes. I am not sure if you are asking how to get a job teaching an on-line course or how to set it up once you have the job. I would be glad to let you know how I got started and I how I set up my course if that is the information you are looking for.

If you're looking to teach through an online school such as internethomeschool.com, Calvert University or K12.com then I know you first need to be a certified teacher with a bachelor's degree (minimum). Some schools also require you to have a national teacher's certification. To get this I believe that the requirement is that you have to teach in a brick and mortar setting for about 5 years. I'm not sure of the exact number of years though. You also have to be able to pass an exam. The exact requirements are on the National Education Association site. This is all for the USA so if you are in another country the requirements may be different.If this is what you are wanting to do then you'd probably do well to do a search for online schools and see what the hiring requirements of the various schools are.

The other option is teaching through a group... or an email, list, internet club or forum. Many do that and teach as friends to friends. - DNatureofDTrain
