I've always considered Chinese a difficult language, considering all the different dialects and sub-languages (Cantonese, Mandarin, and 11 others, I think?) as well as the 4000+ kanji in the writing system (though at least, unlike Japanese, most kanji just have one sound to pronounce). And to top it off, there's so many tones ;__; I would fail in speaking Chinese, since generally I speak with a steady tone of voice, verging between monotone and almost random accentuations. Still I plan on learning Mandarin one day. Although I'd love to live in Hong Kong someday, I think Cantonese has too many tones for me to handle.
