For me the advantages are that I can make and receive phone calls when I am away and/or the landline is not available plus I can send messages to our son who is currently overseas.

It is very much necessary in daily life. It makes life so different and easy. It reduces tention to many. If you have one, your relatives can call you and know the details of your late coming/results/health/location/status of your dependents/Company affairs/Boss arrivals etc. in seconds. Vice versa you can also get all these information as and when you wish to know any where in the world. Is this not sufficient to have a mobile immediately. Don't hesitate, buy one after receiving the posting. Thank you. I may be given more than enough and bored you. Sorry!!!!
