I Am Too Forgetful, Help!

Philippines
May 9, 2007 12:01pm CST
I thought I had some good ideas which is good material for starting a discussion. But I am out somwhere doing something. In order not to forget what has dawned upon me, i kept on reciting in my mind what it is all about. Then upon finding a pen and paper in order to note it down, alas, it has been totally forgotten. Has this happened to you, too?

I too am a victim to this.My thoughts play hide and seek with me and whenever I try to grab them ,they slip away, lol.I suggest you carry a notepad in your pocket so that you can jot them down the moment they hit your brain box.Once they know you are armed ,they might just give in,lol.

the way you describe slipping ideas as identical to hide and seek is so appropriate. once they hide, we keep on seeking for them but they are so good in hiding, they are impossible to track down. hahaha. anyway that pen and paper can nail the ideas down, no argumentation with this one.

you have a lot of things in your mind.train yourself to focus on one thing at a time and you will soon get it right.do it for 21 consecutive days and you will cultivate the habit.good luck. oh, don't forget to do this one, just to remind you. oh, did i say you have to do it 21 days? oh, i did. don't forget!

it will, just make it as a habit and most of all take it easy.do not do all things at the same time and that means don't think or worry too much.if it would help try to write everything in your mind to psychologically purge it and so as not to forget. make it also a habit to write it down on paper not in your pc, then post it on your wal so you can see it.also make it a habit to place things where they should belong and always put it back from where you got it.

Just look with an open eye on things happening around you. Make a clear picture of it in your mind..jot things down lest you forget it. There will no more be any dearth for topics for discussion.

Yeah, I always do that. Whenever I'm out or at work, I would always think of a good discussion and I mentally make a note of it but when I come to my computer, I have no idea what it was. LOL. Now, every time I think of a discussion, I type it on my cell phone since it's always with me.

There are some pre-preventative measures to be taken: 1.Make a time schedule and stick to it; 2.Have eggs every moring as they can enhance memory well; 3.Most importantly, have a will to do . REMEMBER:where there is the will, there is the road. 4.You got to be confident enough to do this thing.you know,A PIECE OF confidence and a good schedule do make a difference. good day.

You are not alone,I do it all the time,I wake up in the morning, and have great ideas for discussions, even after writing them down,by the time I get to work and on the comp.I find I have left the note at home, and forgotten entirely what it was about. But then,I am that way about everything anymore, just age catching up to me.lol Blessed Be.

This happens to me quite often. But I don't worry much about it because it happens to everyone. Sometimes ideas would pop up unexpectedly while were on a train, or walking in the streets or doing stuffs which made writing it ion a sheet of paper impossible. We would do some desperate things to keep it on our mind like reciting it over and over only to forget every single detail except that it's a great idea when where about to write it. Sometimes its best to just forget about having a great idea than be sitted in front of a blank screen or sheet of paper trying desperately to remember it. But that's how writer's live.

All the time! Doesn't help that I had a medical issue back in the mid-'80's & it has affected my memory.

i advice you to have always a pen and a paper with you, so when you remember your plans ahead time, you can write it down. Make it a habit also that if you forgetten something and you suddenly remember it, write it all to your notes so you won't miss a thing. Always plan ahead of time, so when you waked up in the morning, you can browse on your notes of what have you will be doing for today.

That's normal, trindadvelasco! I often come up with the good idea of staring discuusion, then 5 minutes after, I forgot what it was! That doesn't mean we are too forgetful, i believe that's normal. All we have to do is keep a pen and paper with us. It's a good habit, not only to keep down the discussion topic, but also other good idea which weath to remind . Tha's great! I have a small notebook with me now.

that's a good suggestion about having a small notebook and pen. but what about if i forget what it was that i am supposed to write once i get hold of the pen and paper? yes, that's how forgetful i become at times. i find it funny at most times.
