I m scared!!!

The first time I had a root canal I was also terrified of it being very painful. I was so surprised with it wasn't at all! The dentist numbed me well and if I had any indication of feeling uncomfortable he gave me more numbing. The pain I endured before I got there was also gone and I felt so much better. For me, the worst part of the dentist is the sound of the machines. So I put myself into light trance by closing my eyes and concentrating very hard on thinking of a very pleasant place on the side of a mountain looking out at the forrest on the next mountain. I enjoy the feel of the pleasant breeze on my face and the soft seat of pine needles on the ground. I smell the fresh mountain air, the scent of pine. And when I hear the drill or whatever I imagine it is a lumberjack sawing down a tree on the other mountain. Sometimes I'm so relaxed that I'm surprised that the dentist is all done! You will be fine and you'll feel so much better next week that you'll wish you'd done it sooner!
