What is your dream wedding?

I just went to a wedding this weekend. It was a really big wedding that this couple and their family paid over $40,000 to have. It was a beautiful wedding with a beautiful reception. And everything seemed to be planned out perfectly for the bride.
When me and my fiance got engaged he told me he wanted to have a wedding. But I've never been the type to really want a wedding. I've always seen me and my fiance as the type that would just run away on vacation and get married. Well when he told me he wanted a wedding I went ahead and started trying to figure out a date, place, find a dress, etc. This ended up being such a headache. If we were going to have a wedding I just wanted a small one. Well between mine and my fiances family our "small" wedding was going to include over 100 people. Needless to say I ended up telling my fiance I didn't want to have a wedding and then he told me the only reason he wanted to have a wedding is because he thought that's what I wanted lol. So we have decided not to plan a wedding and that we will just get married when we get married.
So here is my dream wedding. I would like to go to the beach somewhere. I would just like a small ceremony between me and my fiance with our daughter there. Whoever wants to come can come. But I just want it to be simple, nothing fancy. I don't want a big dress. My ideal dress would be a simple sundress. I don't want to spend a ton of money on my wedding. I would rather people give us money they would have given us for the wedding to go towards buying a house. And when we get home from our vacation I would like to just have a celebration with all of our friends and family. That's my ideal wedding.
So what is your dream wedding? Have you been planning it since you were a kid? And if you are already married did you have a big wedding or just run away and get married?

I like your idea of the picture perfect wedding because that one is similar to mine!! I want to be married on a beach, small ceremony, simple but elegant! I am going to hire a wedding planner too, even though mine will be small, I don't want to have to worry about anything but having the time of my life! Good luck with yours, hope you get everything you dream of:)

I am very much like you. I am not looking to have a big wedding or reception at all. In fact, just thinking about it makes me break out into hives :-) Way to much to organize...and with my family, there are many um...complications.
Rather I would like a ceremoney that is more about my boyfriend and I. We often talk abuot the crazy things we would like to do...get married on a mountain, get married at Stonehenge, go to a dude ranch, or a pirate castle. But really, I'm not sure exactly what we will do.
I think what I envision is something very small, only a handful of people. Either on vacation, or spur of the moment. Later I would like to have a low-key gathering, like a BBQ or something to celebrate with family and friends.

i never wanted a big wedding ever in my life. So a few years ago when my hubby and I got married we took our immediate family brothers, sisters and parents to Las Vegas and we got married there. It was perfect and so much fun! That was my dream wedding.

Well i have accomplished my dream wedding last year in december... It was as per my dream!!! I went to India to do all my shopping, we invited about 1000 people and a tent was erected with all the decorations and the mandap (wear the nuptial ceremony is performed) and normally hindu wedding have a duration of about 4 days... the first day is the mehendi night where the bride wear mehendi on her hands and there is some singing and dancing...
the seconday day we have the tilak ceremony (where the bridal family goes to the grooms place to give him presents) and at night we have the haldi (where some prayers are said and then all the invitees apply haldi with the bridal...) on that special day we organised a dj night.
the third day is the most important day; the wedding day where the groom comes at the bride's place for the nuptial ceremony and it has a duration of about 5 hours! Then the groom takes the bride to his place.
the 4th day; the groom and the bride is invited at the bride's place for a cocktail dinner...
My wedding cost me around £10,000 and around the same price for the groom as well...
i always dreamt of a wedding just like that with all the ceremonies, the rituals ect... and eventally that was the best days of our life for me and my husband as well... The most memorable days!!!

I dreamt of a wedding where there is only me, my groom, and the priest of course! (lolz) I always imagine that scene in my mind where my goom and i just ran away, found a little, old. old church along the way.. and got married! It happens when the sun is setting in and reddish, orange, and purple colored lights streak through the rose-tainted colored windows of the lovely church..I am wearing a white sun dress flowing down to my ankle and my groom is handsome in white casual, collared shirt and pants.. my groom and i look angelic and happy, not looking as if we are just forced to be there in that event, hehehe.. we can be just ourselves and we don't have to put on a show because we don't have any audience.... later, we can once again call another wedding, this time with family and closest friends to witness.. and with lots of flowers inside the church.. hehehe.

I was never one of those little girls that dreamed about weddings, so when the time came my husband and I escaped to Nevada and got married. A few of our family members followed us, they like that they got to gamble too lol. I wore a white simple dress, my husband wore his navy uniform. We were married by a lesbian Indian minister-who else can say that they did that?

For me, my dream wedding is not that fancy and not also a simple one..The ceremony would be in a christian church. I want a big white dress, that makes me like a princess.. My friends, relatives are invited..and I want my wedding motif is sky blue... Thats all.

My husband and I got married secretly in front of a judge with two friends as witnesses. We never celebrated our marriage, and I really don't care about that. I didn't want my parents and older brothers to know, because they would have made a big deal of it, and I hated that. After we were married, his parents came to take us back home with them, and we ended up living with them for a year until we could afford our own apartment. I wrote my parents a letter telling them that I got married and that I was alright, and that I would call them when I got settled. It turned out well, as my whole family loved my husband, even my older brother who used to pick on me and be so critical of all my friends.

I can say my wedding celebration is great. I wearing long white gown walking in the red carpet. My reception is in the hotel not famous but they food is delicious. I have 150 guests attending my ceremony they said my wedding is beautiful. I spend a lot of money for this but I fulfilled my wedding dream. Today when I saw my wedding video coverage I started cry I can't explain my happy moment that time I can't never forget it forever in my life. The money we spend is from our own savings we earn that money for two years.
