Why does everyone hate this film?

It annoys me when people say things like "oh it was a rubbish film, nothing really happened" and that it wasn't close enough to Kurt Cobain. The director and producer said that the character was based very, very loosely on Kurt, which is why the events were similar (e.g. the way he died) but not the same. Also, people seem to forget that it's an ART film, not a hollywood blockbuster- what were they expecting, a high-speed car chase or something? What are your thoughts?
